They shouldn't just let these protesters get away with whatever they want. If you were the leader of a country and a foreign nation was supporting rebellion in your country to make it easier for their conquest, I bet you would send in the tanks as well.
1. Secession is not what they ask for, it's federalization of the country.
2. For some reason Yanukovich did not send tanks and the riot police was not allowed to shoot even rubber bullets for months.
3. How can you state that Russia is supporting the protest after american and EU officials were openly supporting the protests in Kiev?[DOUBLEPOST=1397666730][/DOUBLEPOST]
5. international law states people have the right to self determination, not contry´s, PEOPLE. the people of f.ex. donetsk are people.
6. also, they want to hold a referendum, not brake away by force. its a right that shouldnt be denied.
Well, not really. There is a right to self-determination but it does not mean that peopleS can break away, neither by referendum, nor by force.
Actually, it's the right to self-determination INSIDE a country. But under that right they do have a right to be an autonomous region.
And please, don't tell me that Crimea was annexed illegally, I know that. I also know that NATO operation in Serbia and most other opertaions are illegal.[DOUBLEPOST=1397666897][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, Russian uniform doesn't really mean anything. All Ukrainian military is either Soviet of Russian, lmao[DOUBLEPOST=1397668610][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh. The Constitution of Ukrain.
Art. 17:
4. The Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations may not be used by anyone to restrict the rights and freedoms of citizens...
6. Establishment and operation of any armed formations not envisaged by law are prohibited in the territory of Ukraine.
Wonder if the current government ever read their own constitution.
Probably not, because they don't even know the difference between Swiss and Danish flags
