I like her post. Good point that law is subjective.

It's not about Obama's pride. And even if it is for Obama, it shouldn't be for the rest of the world.

Gotta get past that petty shit.

I say if Putin goes any further into Ukraine, claiming it as his, someone will HAVE to do something about that. Not the US, someone else. I know Putin's type, dictator who wants his country to force all others on their knees, using tons of propaganda and military threats to get what he wants. He will not stop at just Crimea, he will eventually want to spread further.

Also, his hate toward one specific type of person (gays).

Anyone know where I'm going with this?

But there is one difference, at the very least:

Well, again, I think you are a little over the line on this one. I don't think Putin is the embodiment of evil.I think it would be best to keep statements logical and backed up by facts. Don't just talk shit on Russia. Mikek is from Russia, and he's a good guy. There are a lot of people in Russia and a lot of them are really good people. Look at the works of russians and look at how the general populace talks about these issues.

However, there are a lot of parallels here to pre-war europe, specifically relating to pre-war german imperialism and propaganda.

nick, u should inform yourself just a little bit more before posting stuff like that, it makes you sound rather ignorant! and im sure you´re not a ignorant person ;)
1. putin doesnt execute gays or sent them to concentration camps
2. call crimea an invasion if u want, but there was noone killed and the people seem happy, thats a huge difference to what hitler did.
3. he is not threatning with military attacks, its the us who uses threats of preemtive strikes and missle attacks against iran syria lybia etc etc.

comparing putin to hitler is very wrong.

stop watching so much fox news and get a little perspective, wont hurt you:)

I will never watch fox news lol.

My comment about him hating gays was in reference to him allowing the attacks on gays.

I was actually comparing Putin's actions to Hitler's from reading quite a few book. The one I think illustrates the parallels best here is the book Inferno by Hastings.

Also worth comparing how Putin reacted to the USA wanting any involvement in the Syrian revolution with how easy it was for him to justify annexing Crimea. Saying on one hand that the overthrow of the government is illegitimate, and then in the same breath justifying bypassing that sovereignty to annex Crimea...

I think also you forgot to mention the link I posted to the article I highly supported and recommended reading concerning America's reaction to the Russian mobilization, especially concerning the American media response.

You would have to be an idiot to think that I spend my time watching fox news on repeat and then regurgitating reactionary nonsense to my peers.

EDIT: Now I see what you were talking about thegenius...... my b....

Hmmm may I ask y'all a question?

Why did spanish police arrest a few dozens of peaceful protesters and shot dozens more with rubber bullets??
Looks like it's time for the American and German foreign ministers to impose sanctions on Spain and go give out cookies to the poor peaceful protesters, or is it not?[DOUBLEPOST=1395559016][/DOUBLEPOST]Ukrainian riot police was not allowed to shoot until the 'peaceful' protesters seized hundreds of firearms in the last weeks of the protest

Against people with real fire arms during the last week? Yes.
Did you expect them to defend themselves with truncheons? What would YOU do?
And if you are referring to those snipers, most of them were shooting people from behind, what is pretty clear if you watch the videos carefully. Like some of those people who were shot were standing behind walls, thus bared from the police, some bullets would hit trees from behind and some people would turn round to look behind right after the shots were fired.
And those buildings were already taken over by the ultra peaceful protesters, of course.

But Im talking about Spain now. Time to help the poor protesters form a new government which wouldn't represent anyone but themselves but who cares, they are peaceful protesters.[DOUBLEPOST=1395560862][/DOUBLEPOST]On one hand, I smell double standards.
On the other hand, I had to spend my time while drinking my morning coffee somehow.
The mission is complete, thank you for your attention, ladies and gentlemen :bye2:

Mike you should see what's going on in Venezuela at the moment.

My friend is from there and says that the country is in complete turmoil at the moment. The government was really corrupt (like you could bribe police officers £20 to get out of a speeding ticket) and there are huge protests going on at the moment. Police are using brutal tactics against the public.

Has the US put sanctions on Venezuela? I doubt it because Russia is a bigger threat to the US so they want to seem tough.

I really fail to understand why Russia and NATO have to take each other as a threat rather than a possible ally[DOUBLEPOST=1395577978][/DOUBLEPOST]That was @Storky

@Storky

Because Russia didn't go in during the turmoil and annex part of Venezuela????
Because Venezuela isn't one of the 3 biggest powers in the world and throwing it's weight around??????
Because perhaps the USA would like to let Venezuela work it out, as it appears does the rest of the international community?????????

There's turmoil under a dickhead dictator in Syria, too. And the opposition there is far from "perfect" as well. I think I remember Russia saying everyone should stay out of that one. I guess not enough people in Damascus said they wanted to be part of Russia.

Why didn't the USA want to let Ukraine work it out, imposed sanctions on the government and supported the protest?
