I don't see how changing graphics to boost your gameplay is ban worthy. I go to the lowest graphics settings, that helps me cause I have a crap pc. It's not questionable...

I altered my cfg outside of the UI, but it was to up the graphics :troll2:
Scroll fire is bound through the UI, and we count it as cheating, so you can't say it's cheating based on how the cfg is edited. Though, I don't see how editing your config is cheating because it's naturally supported by the game engine.

It's not scripting, it's just altering config settings. Most are completely unnecessary, and like I said don't boost FPS unless your computer is so old it can't handle some of the rendering and GPU requirements of this game even at low settings. Even my 2009 MBP 13 inch could run this game on a Geforce 9400M (the mac version.... it sucks bawls), and received less than 5 FPS boost from yitch config compared to having all settings on low @1280x764.
While I don't think that most people who use the config need to or get any serious FPS benefit from it, I hardly think it warrants a ban, and there is really no way we can tell who is using what settings except to install PunkBuster on our servers and set to autokick for having certain specific low valued settings.
Altering your config isn't necessarily cheating, but you can certainly get really close if you try. It just depends what you do in the config. I don't think saying that any alteration of your config should be considered cheating, and even in cases where i would consider it cheating, I see no viable way to prevent it, nor do I see the reason to put that much effort for such a small issue.

More on the config thing. Altering your game, whether by playing with the config, downloading some other retarded config, adding software to give you red dot, laser, making the grass disappear, or the walls, or whatever, which gives you an advantage over other players is cheating.
Sure "the game engine supports it". That's a BS answer. For anyone who has done map making or dev, and I have, know that the game engine supports all kinds of thing for dev purposes. It has to. NoCLip, GodMode, Wireframe, all that stuff is supported. By the engine. Not by Krewgaming.

That's right, but try using one of those configs (commands) in a PB server and see what happens to you.
Not ban worthy but it's not really a fair game is it?
for those that don't know what that command is, it removes grass from long distances.
