One of LP's earlier albums is a staple in terms of audio testing. They use a lot of mid-low beefy shit in it, and it's good for testing SPX and phones for good response at 150-300 Hz.
I met a soundcard designer who used an LP track for just that.
EDIT: not just for basic response at those freq. but for balanced response with the corresponding overtones, which are easier to hear with some of the distortion used that really accentuates even tone harmonics.
