Button layouts

So Jasmine had a valid question,some of us use different button layouts for playing cod,so I thought maybe we could list what we use and what we find works good..
aside from wasd default:
here's what I've gotten used to:
E=sprint
R=prone
X=wepswitch
C=crouch
wheel up=reload
wheel down=melee
mouse 4(side button) grenade
mouse5(side button)flash/stun
moved chat button to y because i kept hitting chat and getting stuck
everything else default
 
I use default everything haha. Except grenade on mouse wheel? (that may be standard, I'm not sure)
 
I have EVERYTHING on default because that's the way I learned to play.
Recently I've been pressing Q to wepswitch because I've been playing too much CS but that's just a minor issue.
I like the default COD4 controls, they're great.
 
Frag = 3 on qwerty
Stun = 4 on querty (Think that's standard)
Knife = Mouse 5
Weapon Switch = 1 & Mouse Up
Other than that I think it's standard

How the hell do you play like that?
 
ummm without using my pinky? ffs ....jasmine said she felt hindered by the defaults and wondered what other ppl use...sigh peanut gallery

Q to switch weapons!!!! too many valve games for lyfe!

1=125fps
2=250fps
3=weap cancel (cri aboot it mom)
Mwheelup=333fps
mwheeldown=toggle fps
 
Weapon cancellers suck. It doesn't matter who you are, you just suck if you have to weapon cancel.

Mine:

W, A, S, D - Move
Q, E - Lean
1, 2, Wheel Up, Wheel Down - Weapon Switch
G, Middle Mouse - Grenade
5 - Tube/RPG
Mouse 4 - Knife
4, Mouse 5 - Special Grenade
N - Night Vision​
R - Reload
F - Use
Right Mouse, Left Mouse - Aim, Fire (Respectively)
Shift - Sprint
CTRL - Prone
C - Crouch
Tab - Score Board
T, Y - Type
Z - Voice

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the way you play I just don't understand how you do it. I'd die trying to play like that dude. That's actually amazing.
 
well i tried to put them all as close to each other as possible when i first tried pc gaming so i guess i just got used to it....plus i have no left pinky so shift is hard for me..ctrl and shift are a no go..so io got use to sprint and prone with my pointer finger

F5 = 125 FPS
F6 = 250 FPS
F7 = 333 FPS
Then I have a whole bunch of 'say' binds on various keys.
 
Here's my slightly insane keybindings

num 1 - say "Hello everyone"
num 2 - say "lol"
num 7 - FPS toggle (125,250,333)
num 8 - toggle display FPS
num 9 - toggle lag-o-meter
num / - /quit
num ins - "/rcon status"

4 - stun / flash / smoke
5 - killstreak
0 - weapon select menu

F1 - vote yes
F2 - vote no
F3 - filmtweaks 1
F4 - filmtweaks 2
F5 - filmtweaks 3
F6 - filmtweaks 4
F7 - server login
F8 - server restart
F9 - video capture
F10 - screenshot (Fraps, Dxtory, MSI Afterburner etc.)
F11 - toggle gamma

shift - sprint

home - assault
pgup - SMG
end - sniper
pgdn - shotgun

J - settings 1
K - settings 2
L - settings 3

mouse 1 - fire
mouse 2 - aim
mouse 4 - stun
mouse 5 - grenade

Q - weapon switch
W - forward
R - reload
T - chat
Y - team chat
A - left
S - backwards
D - right
F - use
G - grenade
Z - lean left
X - lean right
C - crouch
V - knife
 
mine is:
1 = wep switch
4 = flashbang
left Ctrl = prone
c = crouch
left shift = sprint
r = reload

i guess you could say i use a standard setup
