Promod Server Config

Hey guys. Let's talk about how to change the promod server.

Keep posts directed, backed up, and short.

Let's actually get some shit done.


First thing. I'd like to see hardcore work for promod. There will be a lot of changes need to be made.

Running speed should be between SC running speed and S1 running speed.

There should be no limit on what weapons you use. No scope limits. Who cares? We're just having fun, right?

I mean like in promod there is a limit on how many people can use a certain class. Let's not have that.

To balance the game, sniper rifles and smgs are limited to 1 or 2 per team.

But we're just having fun, so I'd like to see it with no or almost no limits.
This thread is for everyone's input on the mod. Please make it pointed and short.
Regulation configs are not our concern here. Post what you want and why.

Snipers should absolutely be limited. What the limit is, doesn't matter. SMG can be unlimited, that's fine.

totally with soulg snipers need to be limited but all the other guns should be unlimited.

Snipers should not be limited. If they are unbalanced, they should be changed to be balanced. We are trying to make a server for EVERYONE IN THE KREW to play. Not just people who think they are pros. We need to have everything open to everybody. Everyone should learn how to play. If you have a problem with the limitations on classes, maybe we should change it to 2 TDM matches and 1 SnD (per map) or 1 TDM and 1 SnD per map.

So obviously, this thread is going the way of class limitations first. Let's deal with that and get it finalizd for the time being.

It's not that they are unbalanced. Having nobody but snipers on each team is boring. If it's only KKK people on, you can make them unlimited for shits and giggles and have both. You can temporarily customize settings (with rcon). Snipers are balanced for what they are intended to be, so no reason to change anything.

Except that everyone and their grandma wants to be a promod sniper kid..... so we should let them. If it's unbalanced and boring, who cares? People will stop, yes? i think we should have AT LEAST 3 snipers per team. Maybe 2. 1 is ghey.

What the limit is, doesn't matter.

I never tried to argue for only 1 per team.

If server max player limit is 10, than 1 sniper. 16-24, 2 snipers. 24+, 3 snipers.

Assault is the one class that there is no limit on. Even on regulation servers. And as for sniper/smg, see what I said earlier.

So what is your suggestion with this post?

My point is that we don't care what is regulation. We are looking only to please FIRST our krew members THEN the horde of people (hopefully) that wanna play our server. My suggestion is 3, 3 and 3. I think it would be cool if we could include all weapons in promod.... btw. Just to be more true to the krew code, but if not possible, it's cool.

Anyone else? What do you think the limits should be?

You were arguing about not wanting class limits, and then tried to limit the one class that had no limits. My point was that there are none needed. The only ones that warrant any kind of limit on a public server are shotguns and sniper rifles.
