Helis and POLL

I've never shot down a helicopter in real life but the ones in the game are armored. (Especially the russian MI-24 Hind. That's a flying tank.)

Both are armored but I'm pretty sure a M203 grenade would knock either one out with one direct hit.
As for bullets, it wouldn't take more than a few well-placed hits to cause catastrophic damage and bring it down. (The Hind is harder to kill.)

I voted to leave the helis alone but I do think it's too hard to kill them as it is ATM.

I was in Air Defense for a while and we studied 60+ different aircraft and could ID them on sight.

OPFOR MI-24 Hind (Unknown variant, maybe "D" version)

Marine AH-1N Cobra (Marine variant with two engines)

OPFOR MiG-29 Fulcrum Jet. (Just so we've covered all air power in the game
I actually got run over by one of these when we had moonwalk turned on but I haven't shot one of these down yet. ( I survived)
Must be pretty hard. lol

Idk what I will vote for
The heli is overpowered and when I get one I win the game (if a beast like convicted VoX or Pwn [or, of course, WaLLy] isn't on)
I always get at least a random 5 killstreak within my first two lives in a games, even if I am quickscoping.
I am an average player and I get about a 2.0 KDR with an AR or SMG and 1.0-1.5 KDR with my SR.
And I will always win if I get that first heli and then they keep coming.
I will vote for one of the "yes" options, but Idk which.

In middle school I was a loner, so I spent my time learning military air craft.

That's actually a really good point but I've only ever seen MiG-29s (Russian) planes.
Never anything else despite who calls the air strike.

I'll have to be US or English forces and call an Air strike to observe the plane.

People complain 99% more about Marty/Last stand & the tubes & spawncamping, & We about to start an 'experiment' that would change the server for good because of the 1% crying, I mean complaining, About a simple helicopter that is earned???...I honestly dont get it, Wasn't that the purpose of EARNING the 7 kills, SO u can get the heli & get more KILLS, Whether it be from code saying 'camping on balcony' or vox & others raping certain spawn areas? Some getting heli's by raping spawns 24/7 using last stand & marties to get those 5/7 kills, Whats the point of having a heli? lol SO it can hover in the sky & take pictures of the sceneary? I thought it was there to do its job - KILL/KILL/KILL....I would never sit on a server & cry about a heli...lolol aww man... Whats the next poll about the dude....You better off playing on a kiddie server theDude, Im pretty sure you'd love it, No offense..

concerning the actual poll, i had no problem to take down two choppers within a few minutes on s1. That would have not been possible with a higher killrate of the chopper.

Convicted, this was never about skills, simply about some specific game mechanics. The idea was not to make choppers less effective, at all. In fact, I clearly wanted to keep them getting the people who used them the same amount of kills (thus the idea of boosting the killing power x2, and only decreasing the HP by 40%).

Removing AS and Helos from the server WOULD make it a kiddie server, you are right. It would go against the basic server rules we have, which is to allow everything. I do not think i need to explain my reasoning for the third or 4th time. It's in there, go read it. You do not seem to understand, whether you agree or not.

If 40% turns out to be too drastic of a decrease in HP, it can easily be changed. If 2x the killing power (i guess the helis damage? idk ill leave this up to wally to figure out) is too drastic, it can be changed, as well.

In terms of how many people favor or dislike the idea... let the poll do the talking.

To be honest, I really think playing with server settings is just fun and interesting. You people came up with me hating helis because they are nooby. I never said they were nooby. In fact, I believe i said you CANT blame the guy using his helis for using them... they are part of the game the way they are.

Lol. Yea, first i don't think C. Felon needs a helo to win. Second, helo's never seem to really make a HUGE impact. If you want helos that totally affect the game, play BO. Those helos rack up 20 kills in a heartbeat.

I don't find it overly difficult to shoot them down. Just switch to heavy gunner class and empty a belt into it. Most of the time I'm inside so i don't get killed by them. The times i do get helos, many times they get no kills. I lose more kills trying to hide in a corner and press 6 6 6 6 6 then i gain when the damn thing finally gets called.

I would like to see the helicopter get me more kills, usually when I call it I don't get very many. Also it isn't very hard to shoot two RPGS at a helicopter, just get sleight of hand and telos fast before it targets you. Most of the time it's hovering so it's not too difficult a shot so I would rather have the heli health stay the same. The only thing for me is that my heli never does much; I know I would regret it but I wish it was more like BO heli.

If RPGS went straight it wouldnt be too hard to hit it twice at all. Only problem is youre the guy killing the heli and the guy getting shot at.... not the guy getting points.


I don't see why we don't try it for a little why. It's not like we can't change it back. It's not like Con Felon is going to start losing. I really don't see what the problem is.

If I had a server... I'd be tweaking the settings all the time, just for fun.

I agree that it's a bitch to shoot the heli. Everyone just sees you as a sitting duck instead of trying to take out the helo too.
WTF pwn? A few shots? It takes nearly a full belt with the SAW to take out a helo. And a direct 'tube won't do it either.
If they were easier to kill it would be good.
