Small changes to S1 are here

anything out of the norm is considered a modded server. I'll be returning the heli's health to the norm today. It should go in effect at 2am PST when the server restarts.

Anyone else notice that the server hasn't been the same ever since I added the 'normal' heli again? Shall I bring back the 3-shot heli?

i think it just has health. I know there are different hitboxes on the heli. If you shooter the rotor shaft thing it takes less shots to kill. I think we should have heli at 1/2 health of what it has now, and if we can enlarge the hitboxes that take more damage, then do that. In addition to this, we should make it more effective. So helis do more damage while they are up, but taking one out is realistic for the majority of players on the server. This means that if people keep getting killed by helis, it's their own fault.

I've come to realise that having the 1 shot kill heli thing was a great idea, No im not sucking up. But I hate it now when i get killed with a heli. Please change it back

Helis also take out campers. It would be nice to have pretty aggressive helis that were a little easier to take down.

Concerning S1, a player gave me an idea the other day. With rush-hour, S1 is full of camp and spawnkilling shit. To counter that, perhaps it would be an idea to "split" S1 in two, if you will. Lowering the maxplayers of the two servers could result in a better controlable crowd and less impact of campers and spawnkillers.

What do you guys think?

i think they could be very fun. It's not like they are a really big problem as they are now. We have been playing with them like that for a long time without any complaints. It would just be cool to tweak them.

Commodore that sounds like a subject for a whole new thread. I disagree with it, but it would be a good idea to bring it up for discussion.

I've already lowered the player limit on S1 down to 30. Seemed to help out a bit. ;)


People go to S1 for points, well the n00bs and whomever needs to rank up. Having no heli means less points for them. So I can't really take out the AS and heli.

Looks like we're honing down on these things cuz S1 has jumped in rankings quite a bit! I'd love to see it on the 1st page of gametracker ;D
