Small changes to S1 are here

lotsa reg. people in s1 are complaining

have them come to the forum and complain. can't get any simpler than that. Or, if they don't feel like joining, tell them to send me an eMail.

The more complaints, the more changes there will be.

I needed to spice things up with S1 and I hope it was for the better. By the way, the last bit in the original post was a joke. :)

Server 1 is more poppin than it has been in a while. It was actually starting to die down right before wally bumped the time limit up. Spawncampers and hackers are a problem with our mods, not with the time limit. I will admit that modding server 1 is quite a bit harder now that it is super populated more often. I have noticed that just kicking the spawncampers will knock the player number down to between 25 and 30, which is a chaotic, but manageable number.

Which my next change will be lowering the player limit to about 35ish.

Either way, I actually think the bump in time limit is a good idea but others don't see it that way... ::) ::) :banghead:

People like to complain about not many people playing. I make the change and it's working. There's a consistent 20+ players on every round so far. And it gets better and better. I still think that people don't go in S1 to play just 1 round (pre-change). So if they stay for 1 round now, it's only 30 minutes... I'm talking gibberish now.

I'll end my rant.

i recommend taking it back to 20 min ill try to get the people from s1 that are complaining to get on the fourm

LoL Wally, well for one I still think that 30 mins is too long but that's me. But bringing the limit of players down to 35 or so I think would be a good idea, not only will it show that it's almost full and people (I think) will try to rush in but it's also better for the mods that they can kick the spawn campers, etc and not have to spectate 50 ppl or so. I can tell you ain't no way I'm gonna try to spectate 50 ppl to see if they are SC or not, but after this week's good news I won't be on much anymore anyways so not really a big deal to me ;)

Also I think we should be advertising our other servers on server 1. If we get a lot more people onto server 1, and we advertise our other servers with the IP address made available, then I think we can count on some more traffic for our other servers.

Maybe we should establish a schedule where a mod is resbonsible for s1 each day to avoid not a mod being there. Other mods can still monitered s1 but this one is responsible for it for his or her day

Clip, the only way that's possible is if I was paying them to Moderate. As we all know, that ain't possible unless I win the lotto :D

I hope we would at least keep it realistic about shooting down helis because in real life, they are difficult to shoot down unless you get really lucky.

The AH-1 Cobra (Navy) and MI-24 Hind D helicopters you see in the game are both armored with bullet resistant, honey-combed rotars and bullet-proof (resistant) glass and triplicated hydraulic lines.

3 shots from a sniper rifle would never take down a heli in real life.
Can we find a middle-ground?

At first I could empty two P90 magazines into a heli and still not bring it down.

Can you specify like 20 rounds into the copter and it's down?

that'd be more realistic than 3 rounds.
Besides, Helis don't actually kill that many people.

I'll set it back to normal and just watch as the #1-3 get shit loads more kills thus people thinking they hack.

I wanted to keep the heli but seriously they're outrages at times.

lol. Let's stop thinking about what's realistic, and start thinking about what keeps the game more fun. You think you'd call your heli and it would get there in 20 seconds? You think you could call an Air Strike and have it be there in 5 seconds? You think you could run through an air strike and not get killed? UAV? I mean come on. UAV gives you a map with little red dots representing every person in your area? How is that realistic? I don't show up on radar in real life, and there is no way that some reconaissance plane would be able to pick up everyone, even when they are in a building and out of sight. Respawn is not realistic. Last stand is not realistic at all. If I pump 5 AK 47 rounds into you before you go down, there's no way your just gonna whip out your deagle and then pop me and then the next 3 guys that walk into the room. Dead silence is not realistic. Bomb squad is not realistic. Sleight of hand? Perks and most of the MP dynamics are not meant to be realistic. If the game was super realistic it wouldn't be fun.

I will agree that the helis are kinda ridiculous, but I have seen game where it still doesn't get shot down even with the ridiculously low health. Maybe a little bit more health would make sense. Also, realistically, I should be able to shoot the pilot.

What I mean to say is that, while there are many completely valid arguments as to why the heli's health should be increased, the fact that its current low health is unrealistic is not one of them.

I think it would be cool to be able to shoot the heli poliet through the window with a sniper rifle for a one shot kill

Also it doesn't have to be a requirement then. Just to have someone volentarally commit one day to watching the server would be optional just think it would be a good way to watch the hacks and what-not

I already ask them to Moderate whenever they can. Can't get anymore voluntary then that.

Ok, what about the other thing I said about the heli? Any way we can get one shot with sniper and a certian number of shots with anything else?
