I have heard stories about the iconic M1 Garand clip ejection ring. One being that soldiers eventually started to throw empty clips on the ground and would wait for the enemy to pop their heads up and then shoot them like they were turkeys. XD

The Russians also had the semi-auto Tokarev SVT-40 at the start of the war which the Germans didn't copy until a few years in with the Gewehr 43. The Japanese and Italians may have had their own too.

Its a refurbished original lol. I remember we looked into it's history and were able to trace it back to a certain platoon, but i don't remember what it was. And it shoots like a dream! i'll see if i can post a short video to show you.

Is it just me or are those videos not working? They just show up as white squares for me.

@ Nikon. You're right. I had forgotten that our troops did that. And about those other rifles. But almost ALL of our troops carried an M1 unless they were a specialized gunner. The Germans basically revolved around the mg42 and used the rifleman as support for the machine guns. I think the Japanese were the poorest armed, fed etc. On a lot of the island they gave them a few handfuls of rice, a bolt action, a bit of ammo and told to defend.

I don't think (or know) if they (Germans) carried semi auto rifles on a giant scale. The Germans produced so much useless shit in the war. If they had just focused on a few of their best weapons instead of wasting so much resource...
