Minecraft: So about that permanent IP?!

Well folks,

I have to apologize for the downtime as well as having to say, the server has moved back to my CA once again. Sorry. I will explain why the move back.

If you've been following along, the main reason for the move to Arizona in the first place was because of having a permanent IP (or so I thought). Once I got the server up and running almost 2 weeks ago, I called up my ISP and asked for a static IP. They said it was only allowed in a business tier. $71 for 5Mb down, 1Mb up. Yikes!!! Not something I'd like to pay for at the moment. So that meant in a few months (if not sooner), we would have a new IP.

With the cost of my AZ Internet being currently at ~$32, MC is basically a bit expensive at the moment. I wouldn't mind if I was living there. And with that said, we had to move MC back to CA. And before I left to AZ for my mini-vacation, I unplugged my modem and router, and when I got back home, I received a new IP.

Again, I do apologize for the downtime and constant move. Don't hate me too much

With that said, here's the new IP: 98.151.150.159

Wait did you want to move to AZ and buy a whole new house just because you wanted a static IP? :dolan:

Can't wait to play on it! :) But would creative mode be allowed for me to build with? Building is one of my best traits in Minecraft, so I would like to show off my skills.

No creative mode for anyone. However, at some point bring back our old Creative World.

Just a suggestion, Use DUC.
Its a program that allows people who regularly restart their router or go offline to host a server with a "dedicated" and CUSTOM IP address.

What you do is create an account on here: http://www.noip.com/
You go into your account (Once activated and confirmed), create a new host with a CUSTOM "dedicated" ip address (eg. krewgaming.no-ip.org:25565)
You download DUC manager from the downloads section (http://www.noip.com/downloads) and log into the program.
You can then accept the host and whenever the server goes down/your router restarts, DUC will reassign the custom IP address with the newly provided IP address from your ISP.

Just an idea ;)

I have thought about this in the past

That way, in MC, everyone can add krewmc.no-ip.org:25565 (or whatever the name would be) to minecraft as the server address.
