I've seen it happen a few times. There is a little lag but then that happens when there's a normal restart. I have a logometer on the lower right and it always shows lag when restarting the next map. That's just normal. You have a lot of information travelling to and from the server and our comp's when a new or same map is employed. Me myself I usually go the bathroom or grab another beer or smoke in between maps.

I agree with you about the players leaving due to the long wait timer between rounds. I've noticed plenty of other servers that have timers short enough to make players wanna wait for the next round but just long enough to change a class or two. The timer on S1 however is long enough where I could just leave and find another server before the map restarts.

There are good and bad sides to it.

I'd say, if you do fast restart, make sure everyone has time to check the score and leave.

Yes, the feature is good to keep people in the server, but it someone wants to leave, it's a pain to load everything again then quit.

Personally, I like fastrestart, but I never do more than 2 or 3. After that, the server needs to reset on it's own. !maprestart shouldn't lag the server as it reloads the map. !maprotate should act just like !maprestart on a single-map servers.

Do you guys not like it because of lag or not being able to edit classes?

I know Im new, and maybe my opinion doesnt mean much, lol, but i like the fastrestart sometimes. ESPECIALLY when the server is full. It seems people stick around for 'one more.' I know i do, and i love it when theres a ton of people on. Im impatient and dont like to wait, BUT it is a little bit of a pain if i want to change or edit my classes. I havent noticed more or less of a lag either way, then again my internet SUCKS anyway, hence so do my scores LMAO!

All opinions matter :)

I agree with you fully.

I don't think it should be used regularly, for the reasons already stated above (class changes, potential lag...etc.). I also change my classes regularly. However, I do not want to vote against it, because when the server is full and you fast restart it ALWAYS retains more people. I get sucked into the psychology myself - meh, stay for another, its started already. I accept that people will leave if they want, but I do think it keeps population.

we never had fastrestart till b3...to say a normal restart time makes ppl leave is not entirely true imo..it's what the game offers...i personally like the slight respite between rounds .pee break, talk some smack.... whatever i get real irritated when i'm changing classes and someone pulls the fastrigger,so what if one or 2 among 20 players say fastrestart! ..and by the time a majority vote to do it or not came in....golly gee it would be over anyways..

The yes votes increased a lot since the last time I checked but there were also a lot of those that voted no. I read the posts of those that were against fast restart and understood where you guys were coming from a bit more. I'm not sure about the other mods but I'll personally stop doing fast restart since the opinions of those against it also matters, as D mentioned.
Thanks for taking the time to post your opinions all.
