Tekkit is much more popular than minecraft however it makes greifing more of an issue and need loads of plugins to prevent it which can lag the server.

If you can get around this then I suggest tekkit, but if not minecraft is definitely the safer alternative, especially if you have had greifing issues.

I played tekkit a few times and each time had the same result: I didn't like it. Overly complicated and can be buggy and laggy.

I personally think we should get a creative server, but whatever is realistic in terms of money/people that would use it. Creative is what some people use in out survivor server lol.

Creative makes the game to easy....it's like Wally hacking cod to get to level 55 on first join

There are dual-world plugin that allow new worlds without resetting, but I am not sure how complicated the setup is.

It's easy to set up, it's called multiverse! If that's the way you want to go then that's a good idea...doesn't lag much either!
