Windows 7 32-Bit vs 64-Bit on Macbook Pro 17 Inch

I am wondering whether it would be beneficial to install the 64 bit windows 7 on my macbook.

I have 4 GB ram

2.8GHz Core 2 Duo

If yours is on there, it would be beneficial/possible. If not, don't bother trying it will give you an error, plus it's an indication that if you somehow manage to install it anyway, it won't be beneficial.

With Bootcamp that is, dont even try to install anything with that specs on Virtual Machine.

Okay, so basically if 64 bit CAN run, it doesn't take more memory it just utilizes it better?

I probably have the same spec'ed MBP and I've installed Pro 64-bit and it ran just fine. I don't have the 32-bit version of it to even test and know if there are any useful benefits to it..

Well considering you have 4GB, it would be beneficial to go with 64. You would be lucky if it gave you 3.25 GB in 32-bit.

I would have said either way lol. With 32bit it utilizes 3.5gb out of youe 4gb of ram. But 64bit seems to use more memory. 64bit would be good for future proofing yourself. You can buy more ram later.

Games. cod4 and valve games work great though on OS X, but new pc games aren't coded for OS X. Hence why windows exists.

Yup lol. Pretty much everything else works on OS X. Just games support isn't as good as windows. I have yet to find a program that doesn't have a mac version of some form.
