Image editors, Damage needs your help!

I've been trying for the past hour or two and i cant get it to work, so before i smash my PC into bits, i thought id ask for some help.

I would like the backgrounds taken out of the images below so that only the logo's appear. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Please only post if you are going to give it a whirl so we can stay on topic.

ye, nevermind. I can't seem to edit these so they look nicely. Seems like i lost my already little bit of photoshop skills. :(
If anyone manages to do them correctly, i'd like to know how they did it cuz i tried nearly everything.

I appreciate the effort though.

What Tito posted is what i want. No backgrounds what so ever.

.png results in having a clear background. So nate actually had it right. If you try to embed the pictures into this forum, you'll see them just like how Tito's image is.
 
I tried to embed them into the blog i was doing.

They still had a background. Against a dark background they look great. Maybe it's just the white background on the blog ..

I'll keep at it.

If you are using GIMP you go to layer manager and add alpha layer to your image, then edit in the top menu, select by color and just seclect the white background then cut it boom transparent background
 
I actually just reposted nates pics for that reason lol but you can see hes where transparent probably done in photoshop better quality I dont have it installed on the PC atm but the image is working
 
I rushed these tho, only did it in a few mins didnt take my time to clean it really, sry abt that.
