Spawn Campers

For me the worst bit is when i'm in a game and i get some random player go "Animal, please kick *spawncamper/aimbotter/wallhacker*" and when i tell them that i'm not staff and that they should report them on the forum, they just turn round and say "i can't be bothered" and continue whining about it.

Ok, so it breaks up the gameplay, but at least it'll get rid of the cheater. It ain't that difficult to report them, people just need to get into the habit of doing so.

almost 80% of the time im playing on s1 and i report a hacker/sc'er on shout there are no mods online atm :stomp:

The issue that Mike is trying to point out isn't reporting said SCers though. The shout is 99% good enough to report. This issue is about how lenient you guys are with perma bans. There is no system right now in place to keep track of these kicks/tbans (Im assuming). Lets assume, If Mod1 kicks PlayerA -> kicks again -> tempbans on Monday, on Wednesday Mod2 shows up and kicks PlayerA it just resets the cycle. Over time (a looong time sometimes, months even, depending on how often said player shows up) PlayerA will eventually get Permabanned.

You guys are great mods, especially when reporting on the shout, but this system SUCKS! I think there should be a clearly defined rule set, say for example: 1 or 2 kicks -> Temp ban -> Perma. Thats it. If they appeal and apologize on the forum, give them one more chance.

Im not part of the Krew, but I've been playing on server 1 off and on for just under a year now. It's just my observation that this system needs clear defining and accurate reporting. My suggestion - a google document/spreadsheet would be a nice place to keep track of SCers, their GUID, date Tbanned, who was the mod, stuff like that.

All in all though, I wholeheartedly agree with Mikes original post.

Check the staff bans thread. Look for spawncampers...........

It's not that we don't ban them, it's that there are too many factors at play to just perm ban people. Not saying you guys are retarded, just that some people think players are spawncamping when they really aren't. Now.... Let's say I start being really hardcore about this, and I start kicking balcony campers for spawnkilling......

It's too grey to just kick like that. You guys look at kilcams.... but we actually spectate. I understand the problem, and I will give it WAY more attention. That's all I can promise. I hope the other mods do the same.

We have another FFA broadcast server, you know. People who constantly play s1 are just looking for spawnkills. That's a fact. There's no way around it, that's how the game works at that level.

We also have 6 other servers.............

Aye this is my only gripe as well. SCers are kinda fun, free kills, satisfying to shoot them in their stupid face. After a couple weeks of seeing them...dunno, it feels like they should have been dealt with already. There will always be SCers on s1 so it isnt that big of an issue, especially if everyone reports.
