I babysit now. I love the job cuz it is so easy for me to watch kids, I just revert to my elementry self. The pay isn't bad either.
I have a regular weekday thing and many people on call.
My first job was in a warehouse full time as a picker/packer. Orders came in, you went and picked them from the shelves then packed em up for UPS. Place was huge. Worst part? Inventory. Since it had literally thousands of boxes of parts, we had to count EACH one. Twelve hour days all weekend and then four extra hours after a normal shift. Place was also hot as hell in the summer and cold in the winter since it was all concrete.
Good part. Got paid via direct deposit every week. Got harder and harder to get up at 8am after gettin blazed all night lol. Worked there for a bout 15 months. I enjoyed it for the most part.
My first job was in the Fields got paid minimum wage and under the table. the faster you work the more money you earned the worst part was waking up at 5am to work at 6am and getting a 45 minutes lunch and then back to work until 5:30pm, The best part was the money.
Mowing lawns, washing cars, walking dogs. Like a boss!
But I'll be working at the cemetery the upcoming summer, my dad works there and has been working there for 4 years now. Actually looking forward to it.
You need to go searching for a job either apply at a store or find a side jobs for example mowing lawns, help out a carpenter, landscaping... all things ive done in my younger age.
Tried 1 summer at supermarket, not more cuz i was 13 arent allowed to work more then lol.
But first real job was at the biggest Apple Retailer in Holland(iCentre), started when i just turned 15 worked there for 1,5 years. Place was nice but i didnt get enough paid for what i was doing there imo, was busy with school as well and eventually got kinda fired for not being able to work the times boss wanted..
My first job was when I was 15 on summer break at Clean & Green. It consisted of cleaning alleys, planting trees and things of that nature. It only lasted for about 2 months.
After that my next real job was working at McDonald's at age 16.
edit:
forgot the OP asked for the ups and down.
At the clean & green job, it wasn't that bad. The pain was waking up early on summer break but it was nice getting a check At McDonald's I just worked on the weekends and when my parents gave me a car I worked a few weeknights. The pay was horrible but least it paid for my cell bill
My first job was at a restaurant and for the most part it was pretty good, the hours were about 4-5 per day and it was after school so it worked out pretty well for me. I didn't have a lot of homework in school so that wasn't a problem. Started off as a dish washer and ended up working my way to being the main cook.
The way I got the job was there was a girl that I was dating at the time that her mom was the general manager of the store, so it was pretty easy for me to get it to be honest lol. Just go out and fill out the applications and talk to the managers, tell them your skills and why you would be good for the job and some where will hire you eventually. Just remember one thing, don't give up because if you do you'll get nothing!
My first job was as a kitchen hand. On school holidays.
They were after a new cashier so I got a girl from school the job. She finished earlier than me, but waited around then we would go for a milkshake.
Her BF was not allowed out (strict parents) as was my GF. We went out together on NYE, and things got rather, errr, heated. YEAH BABY!! She was hot.
