I dont know if you guys downloaded music from lime wire or a peer to peer service but ever since lime wire i was looking for a free alternative and i think i found one its called Bear Share and its free and its peer to peer its like lime wire but it was legalized so its legal downloading hope this post was helpful:D
 
The software itself is probably legal but the actual torrents aren't. That was the problem with lime wire. The program wasn't illegal. But it let you access that which was illegal. That was also ultimately the reason why it was shut down.

Oh and if you are looking for P2P service i would recommend frostwire.
 
I just use uTorrent for all my downloading stuff, I never got into lime wire or stuff like that, and I haven't downloaded much music recently since I got Pandora. I have a lot of bookmarked music though that I need to download so I may look into this.
 
I'd advise you to come totally away from bearshare. In my experience it causes nothing but trouble. If you read the bearshare eula (and no on ever does) it says that you agree to have "other" software surreptisiously installed as and when they (bearshare) see fit. It smacks too much of spyware to me, much like limewire and before it, kazaa used to do. If you must use get your music & films illegally, then use utorrent please.
 
Warez bb FFS!

I used Bearshare WAY back years and years ago when i was still a total noob. It was ok for getting individual songs but the bit rates were usually crap. As Animal said it also installed a bunch of junk onto my PC.
 
I use beemp3.com. It works ok if I need a new song that's out. As for other songs, I have a drive with 20,000 songs my dad's coworker downloaded. :)
