Hello everyone,

Just thought I'd let you guys know that our Krew now has our very own BFBC2 server!



For now, it's only for 12 players but lets see how things go and if the demand is there I'll start adding more player slots.

I'll start tweaking the server to our liking. Feel free to make suggestions so we can hopefully get it to become a regular server!

Some recommendations so far:
-Lower respawn time to around 7 seconds
-Conquest (done, I think)
-500 tickets
-limit # of snipers
 
limit number of snipers per team to 2 or 3, I can dig that. I would like to be able to snipe thoguh, and I believe we should apply our server rules that we have kept for so long to all of our games. If we start not allowing snipers in this game, I see no reason to allow marty on server 1. things like that. Yes... it's very annoying to some people, but it IS part of the game.
 
No base rape. No stealing enemy vehicles. 12 players is way , way to low. Needs to be at least 24 IMO. Turn kill cam off, it's useless IMO. Make sure all vehicles are used. Use all maps. Auto balance on. Crosshairs off. I think that's default in HC anyways. The 500 tickets is per side, not total. On smaller maps, a lower # of tickets might be a good idea. Something like 250. Ill add more as i think of it.
 
seems like its gonna be a pretty strict server, I might play else where for now till I can use to the game so I dont end up breaking all ur rules
 
The only rules we have considered so far are no base-rape and limiting snipers. I believe you can limit the snipers in the game options, so you wouldn't be able to break that rule. No base-rape is like no spawncamping. If you have to go elsewhere not to break that rule.... uh ohhhhhhh.

All the other things are just server settings I think. Anyway, I see a lot of tweaking this server happening in the future.

How about no martyrdom? How about no last stand?

I can think of plentiful arguments against all 3 of these things on all of our servers, but they are part of the game. Unless you guys are hardcore hypocrites, snipers stay.

How bout we do maps that don't cater to the snipers who just camp all fkin game in the same spot?

After thinking it over, i think it should be snipers or no snipers, no limiting. I was on a server yesterday that limited the amounts of snipers and lots of people were complaining. The amount of people that use recon class annoys the crap out of me but it should be a players choice to use what they want.

@Stevo - These are not strict rules. It takes quite a bit of effort to go into the enemy base and base rape or steal their vehicles. Not hard to avoid. Many servers have this rule in place.
 
I would say allow snipers then. Otherwise we are just arguing preference by a handful of our players rather than the fairness and "allowing all parts of the game" ideas. Snipers piss me off in that game a lot, too, but it's still extremely hypocritical to say No snipers are allowed on the server cuz we dont like them, then turn to people who complain about marty on server 1 and tell them we allow all parts of the games we play.
 
why, are the snipers on BC2 annoying?
just put no limit, its still odd if we limit them
 
OMG! BC2 is so bad ass.
I just played a capture-the-flag type game (can't think of the name) it was so great.

Great responsiveness, killer graphics, tanks, jeeps and 4-wheelers are fun to drive also.
You can engage tanks with tanks or anti-tank weapons.

I may not be on COD4 much, lol.
 
Looks like I'll be on cod4 more often now. w00t. :giggle:

and yeah, BFBC2 is pretty sweet.
