Minecraft rocks, but is extremely buggy. Admins have trouble keeping their servers clean as it is, with a MineCraft specific clan and mods on almost all the time. Griefers and such get away al teh time. If we have a minecraft server, the safest bet would be to have a krew only server, the white list being only for people in the krew. I just don't think it would work out well... though the game is awesome. I'd say it's one of the best buys out there right now, if not THE best buy (aside from cod4)

I think what we should aim to do is get a server running a game that enough of our members will play so it gets enough mod attention to be a nice server and attract loads of people. We want these people to donate to the krew and hopefully the server will fund itself, and possibly more. Any extra funding would allow us to have a server for games like minecraft, which are hard to succesfully run, don't really fall in our niche of gaming, and don't have a huge paying player base.

The most successful games will be ones that are still growing, advertising, and getting new players involved. Battlefield seems to be the best option. There will be new battlefield games, people will continue to try to new ones and then decide to go back and buy the old ones as well. There will be package deals on steam for battlefield games. The player base is sure to keep growing. Not to mention it is of the same genre as CoD so more of our members are likely to have it and enjoy playing it. It is also a huge community and is extremely clan based.

So for the long term... I think Battlefield is the best series to get involved in. We need to have an organized structure for dealing with the needs of both clan sectors. Who admins what? Who's job is what? Does recruitment into one sector guarantee acceptance into the other? Things of this nature.

Having said _ALL_ of this, I'll be happy with whatever game we choose, if we even add another game to our list. All of these games are fun, and it's really this community that has attracted me to playing so much, not just the games.

Hmm, look at how hard it is to keep just these few cod4 servers maintained. We would have to have huge staff implacements and i dont think we need another 10 mods to manage it, or overwork the ones we have already.

try one server at a time for some games, and see if any of them really work well the the krew and other players.

Ok, this topic got dropped and it's still an issue.
We're losing people because they're bored of COD4 and BO sucks and we have no alternative games.

Again, let's consider a Battlefield 2 server.
I just purchased and downloaded Battlefield 2 BC2, which is a hugely successful game with which we can draw more fun people into the group.
I don't have a problem funding and managing the server with some help from you guys. (Moderators et al.)

Think about it and watch the video below.
Also, see the top ten reasons BF2 BC2 whomps MW2 as described by two total retards.

1. Vehicles to move from A to B.
2. Helicopters you can fly.
3. Buildings which collapse and can be destroyed with enemy inside.
4. No camping permitted
5. Dune Buggies with guns on them
6. No scope drift.
7. Huge number of maps, terrains (snow, sand, cityscape.)
8. Benny the Buff
9. Asteroids
10. Watch the video. wow!

I agree.

A BFBC2 server would be awesome. It also runs, from what i can see, a fully customizable Punkbuster. PB seems to work ALOT better in BFBC2 then in COD4. I don't get kicked for using programs such as MSI etc. You can set PB to auto kick/ban for pretty much anything depending on what rules you want to enforce.

That top 10 list is a bit misleading though. Their is no universal "no camping" rule in place. Rules vary from server to server as in COD4, and i haven't played one yet that has a no camping rule. Plenty of camping goes on by snipers, of which their are tons. Scopes do not sway, but sniping is much more difficult, or at least takes a lot more practice.

It's just harder to kill someone in general. In Cod4 you prertty much look in the general direction of someone and hold Left mouse and they die, the amount of time it takes for them to die varies. You don't really need to ADS to succeed in cod4, especially server 1. It gets to the point of absurdity how easily someone can win on server 1 without actually aiming their gun.

BFBC2, i am always aiming down the sights. You pretty much CANT count on any kills at all from ghey spray. THe game actually requires a large amount of skill, as opposed to a large amount of learning where people spawn (cod4). Even though I always aim down sights in both games, I stlil can't manage kills in BC2, regardless of the fact that 'm actually shooting at a visible target the whole time.

The difference: Map size and spawn points. Cod4 is all close range combat with close spawns that you can easily take advantage of. BC2 doesn't have those spawns that you can just run to and see (excluding base rape). People are all spawning way the fuck behind some terrain feature and you don't see them til they hike up into visible distance.

Don't get me wrong.... I love Call of Duty 4. It's an awesome game. Just discussing here.
