It would be interesting chatting and foruming, and the perceived persona of members.

Some clans I have seen use first names |WE|Larry, |WE|Steve, etc. Which is handy as you say "hi Larry" or whatever.

In our Krew, we say "Hi stevo" and we know it's stevo and you have some preconceived picture in your head of Stevo.

But if I was talking to R2D2 and said "Hi Artoo" I would always think I was talking to a trash can robot.
