Seriously, the flag is held up by a pole

Two flag poles actually. One vertical into the ground, one horizontal on the top edge of the flag.

I don't even see half the pics at work, but I know the pic

I think you're right AVC. There is definitely an outline of a pole on the top and side of the flag.
