I'm banned, and don't know why.

A couple of days ago i got cod 4 from a friend, after i reinstalled my pc and didn't have cod 4 anymore. I have always loved |KKK| servers and played a lot like a half year ago or something.

But today when i was going to play on a |KKK| server, it didn't work, "You are in a permanent ban". I don't know how this can be, i don't remember anything wrong i did when i played before.

Anyone got any ideas?

Are you able to get on PunkBuster servers? What name were you using or what names have you ever used before?

As ive said b4 its becoming a more and more common excuse....hopefully we end this one quick idc what the result is best advice go buy ur own copy .
 
Well we talked to knut on the forum the other day about this, as you can see from the pictures below he was able to get his guid number for us, and what doesn't make sense is that according to PB he's banned from it, but it let him on a PB server to get his guid. Also you see that it says he got banned for MD5Tool Mismatch for the sounds.dll file, and from what I looked up about this it shows that it's either a hack or a corrupt file.

At the time we talked to him he reinstalled his game just in case it was the file being corrupt. We also found another guy that was banned from PB for the same action, and he was able to get his ban appealed so apparently it was file corruption.

I and several others on at the time has played with him and never suspected him of hacking, and since the PB shows IMO more likely it was file corruption maybe he deserves another chance, I'll let you guys decided on it but I'm going to say unban him and if you think he is a hacker, just keep an eye out but I really don't think so. ;)

as you can see, the file punkbuster seems to have had a problem with (sounds.dll) doesn't look like a hack file or even a file one would modify to cheat somehow. I would let him back in.
 
Thanks all :D But that i get the game from a friend is actually the truth. He bought in Sweeden where all is much cheeper than it is in Norway (both the price and the vauluta), and i really dont want to use a whole lot of money on it when i just can get it from a friend who bought it cheap.

Actually this is the only concrete example of punkbuster incompetence I have seen. Obviously punkbuster had a problem with a corrupt or incorrect file.

it works 95% of the time.......every time...
 
houston you strike me as being extremely full of shit. When I make a statement or an accusation, I try my best to back it up with concrete evidence. You just take shots at people and state your opinion over and over again. We have NO other concrete examples of punkbuster fucking up on our forum. This is the only one where it is actually a problem with the program itself. Your dislike of punkbuster seems irrational. It seems to me that you felt like you needed to take a stance, so you just arbitrarily chose to hate punkbuster.
 
guys that is a form of hack it makes the sound of smoke 50% less gunnfire is louder footsteps are 60% louder its a hack commonly used in promod to make them look..... amazing i guess but no its cheating

You got any proof of that?, I've never heard about it before but it would make sense if it's true.
 
I searched it once on google and found multiple hack sites telling you to put their sound.dll file in your folder as a hack.

google "punkbuster issues and problems" dude.. I never said I hated PB.. I said that its a buggy program with many issues. There are instances all over the internet of PB failures and false positives. I actually was a proponent of us getting punkbuster so maybe you need to get your facts straight and stop acting like a wounded little punk. At times it seems you actually own stock in PB the way you blindly defend it

I can hardly understand your posts. Try commas or something. The sound of smoke 50%? I got the jist of it, but in the future try and make your posts literate.
