if you was asking for my reasons as to why i thought it was a bit odd then

yes the Intel Core i7 smashes the Core i5 on low detail games but as soon as you start turning the detail settings up then the i5 is just as good as the i7 for fps and uses less power. they are matched so close when you turn the detail up because the cpu is not the bottle neck so using a i7 for a dedicated gaming pc is not worth the money

Stevo doesn't even game anyway :p
I guess its good overhead if he decides to do CPU intensive stuff like code and render.

I do agree with you but I didn't mind spending the extra cash. I don't really game much either but if I do game this is obviously the machine I use. It's just back a couple years ago I was doing a lot more work on Windows, now with my new job and all I'm pretty much glued to my iMac everyday. I might even have an addiction in buying PC parts lol

hello Kreubs
I just saw your last post and I wonder what it is
a config for a good pc?
I could send you my pc config to see if I put a little more powerful graphics card and especially which card to choose.
thank you

So,

I started ordering parts to upgrade my PC when I decided just to make a new build so I would have a second functional rig for my girlfriend to play when she comes over.

That being said, I did end up going over my initial budget as I had to buy a new case, fans, cooler, ram, etc.

So, on with the new build!

OS: Windows 10 Home
Boot drive: Kingston 240GB SSD
Storage: 1 TB WD Black 7200 RPM
Mobo: ASUS H170 Pro
RAM: Corsair Vengence 16 GB DDR4 @ 3000MHz
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K Skylake
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
GPU: Gigabyte R9 290 4GB
PSU: Corsair CX750 Modular 80+ Bronze
Case: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus

I also purchased a light controller with a strip of RGB LEDs to look awesome.
The fans I bought are all green.

Say what you want about my case, but I love it. I used it for my original build and it's got all the space I could possibly need plus a bunch of fan spots.

I know, I could have went with the R9 390 for cheaper. I bought the 290 over the summer and am putting my old 6950 in the old build. It's actually still a beast of a card.
