I posted something of these pre crash so I think I can post some again by now.
In the 70s these were occasions where the world's most well known actors, comedians and politicians would come on the show and poke fun at each other. While some of these, particularly the ones with actors who didn't know how to tell jokes would be on, sometimes they weren't that great. However when the real stars of the comedy world came on, some of the funniest stuff would be seen. As usual with my long video threads, view at your leisure.
To kick this off here's one of my favorite comedians who's still appearing fairly often on shows like Jimmy Kimmel, Letterman, Craig Furgeson, and Regis Philbin. His name is Don Rickles. His specialty was insulting everyone that he would see. These aren't just blunt insults, pointless abuse, no. This is some very clever comedy even if it can be a little shocking. What makes it okay in his case is that he really doesn't mean it at all.
Here he is insulting among other people, the man that they were honoring that night: Bob Hope.

Here's a man whose specialty was simply to act drunk....again this isn't some stupid amateur skit. This is much more funny than you would think from a drunk act. Here he is honoring in his own special way, the above seen Don Rickles.
