It's possible that it was the single player and he had done it many, many times until he got it just right, then recorded it

just a question of habit. he must did it a lot of time. You can do the same think on district in COD4...already did a 1vs1 game with a guy and we both played with tube. after few minuts when i notice that he shoot in the sky, i've started to do the same. Its not very precise but it works at least 1 or 2 on 4 tries.
