MacBook Wi-Fi Problems

I've been having trouble while on wifi with my macbook. It's getting full strength signal but it just cuts out every few minutes. I've googled this and it seems like a fairly common problem with the AirPort Utility but I don't use an AirPort router(or whatever it is, I just know I don't have one.)

Is there any way to fix this? It's been happening for a while and Apple's support forum is no help.

Are there any other networks nearby? Interference from another router/wireless network can cause intermittent dropouts .

Try some of these http://howtoapple.com/mavericks-wifi-issues-fix/

And yes, I know it says it's for Mavericks.

I actually think I fixed it...

I made it require a password when turning off WiFi and so far it's working okay.

I happens alot more when I'm on my college campus. There are about 10 WiFi networks in any given place there.

Then that is most definitely interference. Too many networks running on the same or similar channels will do that.
