Obama's golf trips...

So... I just read that Obama's February and March golf trips took $2,952,278 out of our pockets, on airfare alone!

I understand the need for vacations, especially while you're running an entire country, but seriously? $3 Million? Why should we, the tax payers, have to pay for you to go to exclusive country clubs for rich people? You make $450,000 a year for the rest of your life and you couldn't foot the bill? You haven't even payed any expenses for the past 4 years. You have atleast $1.8 million saved up PLUS whatever cash you get from legalized political bribes.

/endrant

What do you guys think of Obama's frivolous spending of our tax dollars? Should he have to pay for his luxury vacations with his own money? Especially when there are people in our country who can't even afford a college education, let alone a roof over their head and vacations. I personally think we pay enough of his expenses that he can pay for his own vacations, especially with how often he's been taking them lately.[DOUBLEPOST=1399095483][/DOUBLEPOST]http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/apr/30/obama-golf-trips-cost-taxpayers-3m/

According to records obtained by Judicial Watch, through Freedom of Information Act requests and lawsuits, the Obamas and Vice President Joseph R. Biden and wife Jill have spent more than $40 million taxpayer dollars on trips since 2009.

Putin gets almost nothing... Except for 5% of Gazprom shares and 51% shares of some smaller company of that kind.

1% of Gazprom shares would beat Obama's golf expenditures if he played it in Japan every evening XD

Also, 3 mln for two months is 0,06 cent per citizen a month - I wouldn't bother writing a word about that.

And most of those 0,06 cents are not directly from your pocket but from businesses[DOUBLEPOST=1399117696][/DOUBLEPOST]@Storky UK makes so much money on turists who want to visit the palaces and other stuff that the incerase you mentioned is nothing compared to UK's income[DOUBLEPOST=1399117816][/DOUBLEPOST]I understand that almost everyone dislikes their government, including me, but you don't need to hate it for everything in the world without looking at the other side of the coin

It's probably 3 mil because Obama is the "worlds most important man" It would be silly if he got killed because he just booked a hotel somewhere without any protection or whatever.

I'm not American but that is wrong.

You think that's bad though?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...rise-Monarchs-income-hit-38-million-year.html

Our monarch gets $38 million a YEAR from our taxes. For sitting on the throne and waving at people.

To be fair she does bring in a lot of tourism though.

Holy crap dude. Isn't the royal family just a tourist attraction now? Or do they actually do stuff? Either way I don't really pay attention to them, unlike most Americans freaking out that the princess popped out baby, as if no other woman in the world could do that...

I'm not necessarily mad at Obama. If it was any other President (doesn't matter the party), he'd get the same treatment/vacations.

Blame whoever does the budgets and the peeps that approve those budgets. If it's anything like the district mentality then well, the outlandish spending will always be there. Say you get 1 million dollars in a certain budget for the year, and you only really need half a million. What happens the following year? The peeps that approve those budgets look at the new budget and say for the next year you're only getting half a million. To avoid that, the peeps at the school buy unnecessary things so that their budgets don't get cut for the following school year. It's dumb, I know.

Yeah it's total bullshit to be honest. I can't fault the fact that it brings a shit load of tourism cash into the country.. but comon.. they're just celebrities like any other ("oh she took a shit, lets film it because it's famous").

On the good side, they don't have any power whatsoever apart from being incredibly rich and having popularity.

I would be fine with it if we didn't have all of this poverty and people without jobs. People who can't afford education. Military pay cuts. School budget cuts. Etc. If the president was really doing what we elected him to do, instead of doing what the companies want him to do, then I really would love to see him go on vacations, he would deserve it! But until he actually gets people out of poverty, helps with education, gets the already low military income back up to where it was, and helps actually create non-government jobs(which he's been increasing like crazy, meaning less tax money to go around) then he doesn't deserve to take large sums of money for his luxury vacations.[DOUBLEPOST=1399138554][/DOUBLEPOST]

Do people in the UK really care about the baby as much as Americans seem to? I've always wondered that.

It never left the front page of every newspaper for 3 weeks. Also you should've seen the turnout in London for the Royal Wedding. Hundreds of thousands of people turned up.

I think one has to read between the lines here. The headline is very misleading. The cost , i would assume, is for Air force ONE and the fighter escorts etc. Regardless of where he was going, the cost would probably still be the same. It also appears from the article it wasn't just an exclusive, i think i'll just hop on AF1 to Palm Springs to Golf kind of thing.

Misleading information, IMO.

And that's assuming the figure is accurate. Just because it's blasted in bold print from a newspaper doesn't really mean a whole lot. Not to me anyways.

I suppose we should blame him for a water shortage because he played on courses that consume a lot of water.

I'm not a big fan of Obama, but really, that story is ridiculous.

During March 7-9, the First Family spent Spring Break at the exclusive Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Fla., where members must have a minimum net worth of $35 million to join. Other expenses of that trip have not been made public.

What exactly is the purpose of the queen. I never knew and never had the time to investigate, so I'm asking you!
I'm not sure entirely but she does a lot of foreign relations stuff (meet and greets with other countries to keep the friendship going). I think she supports a lot of charities. You'd have to Wikipedia it lol.

People from the north of england don't really care about her as much as the south.
