Apple stocks will be a tumblin. I might snag me a few shares when it hits it's low. Tim Cook will be taking Steve's place. I'm not sure if this is correct but he will be the first homosexual that holds CEO position in a large company like that.

Something to reassure investors and consumers that he'll stay on as a design and innovation consultant indefinitely b/c that's really what he did.
Design and conceive cool new products which make Windows computers look dull and obtuse.

I believe he will still be on the board of directors. I would guess he is "resigning" because of his health issues, but just a guess. I can't really see him just handing the company over and being a bystander. I'm sure he will still have great input.
