As some of you know, the MC server has been offline for quite a while. Is there any interest in bringing it back? If so, new world (start over) or old?

I'll throw up an informal poll to gauge interest.

Voted yes for new world. If ppl want the old world(s) I'm fine with that aswell.
 
I also voted yes for new world. I like the challenge of survival. Maybe we could up the difficulty level?
Also, 1.8 has soooo many new blocks, I would find a 1.7 world lacking.
 
1.8 is must. 1.9 will be here soon aswell. And i agree we aint little kids. We should play on hard mode, when you die you lose stuff and xP.
 
i agree with take i voted yes for new world - maybe wait till 1.9 is out and get one on 1.9?
 
@DamageINC are we gonna run the poll for a certain amount of time before making the decision?

Also, I would hope the folks that are asking for it will be the ones that will play on it? Even if it's a new or old world? Would be pointless to bring it back if it doesn't get used.
 
the only reason why i stopped using the last one - when it worked - was cuz for me at least it lagged alot
i would definitely use the server
 
I will play on it only if there's a good amount of others that will play as well. No fun playing by myself (as i'll probably won't build a lot but just fly/run around and talk).

I didn't put an expiration on it. I'll set it to seven days.

Any way to have both worlds exist? I had so much stuff on the old world. I'd hate to have to start over.
 
i dont remember what world is what anymore - i cant remember if i built something on that world or if it was the world before
we needs more mountains jungles dark forests and snow biomes!!!lots and lots of snow!!!

You have OP, you can sneak in anything you want. To me the fun is building up my empire. Anyway, we could do something like we had earlier 2 worlds connected to each other.

we can play 1.8 and once 1.9 is up we upgrade to the new world since it's only the end that has new things to render I believe.
 
ah ok ya and ya its mostly the end with spawning more ender dragons and so on :3
 
I don't get much game time these days but I'd play it from time to time.

A new vanilla world would be cool. Grief-protected vanilla of course.
 
Poll has closed. With NY's downgrade, I'm thinking about hosting a small MC server somewhere in the US. Should help with "lag" I suppose XD. Not planning on getting a server over 1GB RAM from the get-go unless the server is consistently getting used.

More info to follow.
 
Sorry for the lateness. MC server is coming. However, with the server only having a small amount of resources, I don't think we'll be able to host our old MC server on it.

I'll begin working on the new MC server which will more than likely be hosted in Chicago. Just need to find the time to do so. I'll work on bits and pieces throughout this week. I'll try to have it done in 1 week. Please bump this thread if I haven't posted anything in a few days; don't be shy to do so.
