setting up a server

Please remember who is asking this question:
Be as simple as possible XD
I'd like to set up a server with the Kill confirmed mod (mod is installed) and make it public(at least for us)
has anyone used tunngle or similar thing?
a few of you have explained to me how simple it is but I need plain instructions as to opening the ports or whatever...please use small words and big pictures
 
Tunngle has a plug 'n play port forwarding system that usually works out of the box.
The only issue with Tunngle is that if you make a server there, everyone has to be on Tunngle in order to play.

It would be a lot easier to forward port 28960 (default cod4 port) from your router to your computer.
 
I found it easier to give your PC a static IP and in your router look for DMZ and enter your PC's IP.

You could tell your router to give your pc a static IP instead. That way, you don't have to mess with DNS addresses.

What's your router model?
