Sound EQ Filter

Hello,

I have found this in the options menu before and wondered what it actually did, and why it is there. I never actually made a thread about it.

So here's the thread. In the options menu, under sound, you will find the option to turn off or on the "Sound EQ Filter."

What is the purpose of this?
What exactly does it do?

Can someone explain what this is and what it does?

Sound is a very important part of the game. Dead silence is a huge bonus. Headphones are a huge bonus. The right headphones make a huge difference.

It's such a big bonus it gets people in trouble. The EQ makes a big difference on everything.

Can someone explain?

I'm still talking about sound eq filter, btw. Sample rate really doesn't make a difference here.

Sound EQ filter from what I have been explained basically turns your sound card off and uses cod4 to calculate the sound in an effort to normalize the sound. So in reality it isn't what you want to use. But you can change your speaker config to 5.1 and that will slightly make a difference.
