How can you not know who Nelson Mandela is???!? Don't they teach about him in the States, in schools, parents??

You would be surprised, more like horrified, by what they do not teach in the States anymore. Many kids these days don't even know what happened on December 7th, 1941...

@Take I was never taught about Nelson Mandela in school. However, I knew who he was and this is really a sad moment in history.

Mandela is truly a hero.

After reading so many idiotic, racist comments on Yahoo/CNN about him, I'd say #4 is in full swing. America likes to think our history and way of doing things is the only one that counts.

I was taught about Mandela in the 7th grade haha.
He was an important figure in South Africa history, and he left behind a unforgettable legacy.
