i've mostly seen local stuff but i did see sweatshop union and pigeon hole twice, both were great live, also saw this really weird fucked up band called space boots, their songs were about having sex with a dog, stds and doing lots of drugs, probably the worst musicians i've ever heard in my life

I don´t often make lists, but when I do, they have to be in alphabetical order.
I saw most of the bands at festivals or shows, where 3 or 4 bands where playing on one evening. So that´s why there are so many...

I´d love to see Machine Head, never had the opportunity

The USA doesn't hold many festivals, at least not like Europe does with Rock Am RING etc. Metallica started one a couple of years ago here that runs for two days and features about 30-40 bands. Tickets are $75 a day. Still nothing like the European festivals though.

Machine head A much better opening band than Lamb of God :/

If you want to go to Wacken, you have to pay about 130€ (175$) I think. Rock am Ring costs 238$!

Yes , but not really any bigger name bands though. The two biggest were Metallica and Red hot chili peppers, along with Deftones and Rise against. 38 total bands.

Rock AM ring has much better acts and a lot more of them. At the Orion (Met.Fest) there is only one band id wan't to see. At Rock Am ring, there are a few. Newstead, Volbeat, Stone Sour etc.

@Jana -- Knife Party/Flux Pavilion/Krewella was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Hands down. The crowd energy was unlike anything I've ever been a part of.
