Broken Shoutboxes

The security update I needed to do earlier this morning ended up breaking a few forum plugins. The main ones are the shoutboxes.

The current one that's up, is our old one, and if you make a shout, you'll have to refresh for you to even know it's there. The new shout that we've all been using and miss is completely broken. They're working on a fix. As soon as it's available, I'll get it on here.

first shoutbox victim to reply to this message...lol

I was the first victim. I posted 4 times before I figured out I'd spammed. lol The "go" button had no tooltip, nor did it turn to a hand or any other icon. No worries, and hello!

The lite version has been installed. You'll now notice that you won't have to refresh the page to see your reply as well as the others'. However, since it's the lite version, it comes with restrictions. For the moment, the huge white box to the left of the shoutbox can't be moved, and there are no font sizes. Once they fix the pro version, I'll get it on here. I also need to figure out how to change the white box to black/gray. But please bare with me on that.

I've also added a new Forum Stats to the forum which can be seen under the shoutbox. The stock version came with white background, but I've already fixed this for all dark themes. If you're using a dark theme and the background is white, you'll need to do a hard refresh on your browser.

I didn't like it at first, but it's not too bad. Although, the popup with the info lingers until you left click again, which is annoying. The auto refresh goes a long way to making the new stats box a win, IMO.

I experience the same when viewing the forum through my phone and I imagine it'll do the same on a tablet. But when using Chrome on the PC, a single left-click goes to the thread/post.

I'll look into disabling the popup info.

Yes, a left click goes to the thread. I meant when you hover over and then take the pointer off, the popup still hovers. I switched from Chrome to Comodo Dragon. It's basically Chrome, but not quite. I was having some really strange issue with Chrome and i hate Firefox. CD is quite nice.

I also like the speed of Chrome but hate the privacy issues with it, if your concerned about that then check out SRWare Iron, it's basically Chrome but without the browser sending your info to Google, and it's also as fast and works with Chrome's extensions as well. ;)
