An idea about Spawn Camping

Recently we started cracking down on spawncampers with kicks or temp banns but from what i noticed we cant keep up with the flow of them. So what im suggesting is like a specific group of people who able to only issue temp banns and kicks. Not like a mod who can also perm bann but just a group who can be on guard for eliminating them.

Just curious on your guys thoughts.

Well Diz the sound of it is great, the only problem I see with it is that you have to have the password to be able to kick or temp ban, or even ban at that. I'm almost 100% sure that Wally will not go that route, giving people that are not Moderators the password to the servers because then they could do anything the Mods can do. And if your wondering "well just don't tell them how to do it" that won't work either since there are places on the net that tells you the commands, but it sure was a great thought though

i have thought of maybe taking an extra few mods on to try and help with the spawn camping

maybe just get like two or three of them and make it their mission to try and gt on top of it but we could also do with the console message back up so that people know we dont allow spawn camping anymore

Maybe extra mods coupled with automatic console messages advising players to finger players by name and location would reduce spawn camping.

I've noticed people take joy in hunting down spawn campers and will actually camp out waiting for spawn campers to take up position. (I put claymores in spawn camper hangouts, he he.)

One thing, limit console messages to 60 seconds or less frequent. longer messages sit in the middle of the screen blocking the player view.

Yea i see ur guys points i thought there might have been a whole different process for temp banns and kicks but yes that would be bad having people who also might have the password to the console that arnt mods. maybe we just need more mods to help police the servers thats the only way i can think of it. The messages i think are ineffective because people just ignore when we warn them so i dont think the message will get through.

I'll add this, even if we add 2-3 more Moderators, I give it 2 weeks and then we'll start hearing about we need more Moderators.

If we add too many mods we'll just be tripping over each others dicks.

Remember that nobody gets kicked/ banned/ slapped till the mod actually sees the offender doing something wrong. Some of these players hate one another so they just start calling names out..

Yes Huston that may be true but face it even though we are issuing the temp banns and kicks theres normally not someone on there long enough and when the other players and spawn campers see that these warnings arent being enforced for lack of a mod to do somethin they just laugh it off and do it anyways.

I think the problem reachest its worst on weekdays when everybody is at work this is usually the time from what ive noticed that the server is the worst. This is when we definately need a mod in there to atleast check on things.

Yeah Cent I agree that too many messages are a nuisance, I suggested to Wally about on every 60 seconds, then throughout the entire round at 15 mins it would only show the messages 15 times

I think that server hack that points out spawn campers to the other players would be welcomed by most people.

lol pwn this is quite the old topic nowadays kinda pointless to do this but the hack idea is pretty cool haha maybe like after so long u would just blow up.

well we definately need mods on at all times. maybe WaLLy could figure out a system to get at least one mod on at all times by asking what times the members are available at certain times. it would be complicated as hell but it might just work

Don't think that will work Nick, it would then seem to be like a "real" job. I know I sure wouldn't want to say "yeah I'll be here from 6-9 pm everyday" and then miss it. I'm sure none of the other Mods will agree to this either since they have lives outside of the game, well this is my opinion on it anyways

Yea i agree with Blu but to tell the truth from what i noticed spawn camping is at a decline since we started cracking down on it. Most of the time when someone cries spawn camper its mostly because they get spawn "killed". We dont need constant enforcement simply because people have learned there will be consequences for the actions.
