Does anyone have a GoPro camera? I'm thinking about buying one to possibly take on the next cruise as I don't really want to take my Canon and be all anal about it getting wet.

That's actually not bad, G. :thanks:

The only thing is that I may want to use it for other things and will probably need other accessories (suction cups) for it as well. But definitely a nice alternative. Gonna add it to my list.

edit:
and the only other downside is that my iPhone only has 16GB (probably 8-10GB right now), and where I can easily add more to the GoPro. I'll try taking a few videos on the iPhone and see how much space it starts using up.

$235 just to avoid worry of getting your camera wet?

I've never been on a cruise, but is there water everywhere other than the pool?

I wouldn't hesitate to take my good camera.

Lifeproof is like 75bux and has over 2,000 1 star reviews on Amazon. :fuckthatshit:

My Canon (don't recall the model) is/was a lot more than $235. I took it on the cruise last year and I couldn't take it on the excursions because I was afraid it would get wet :\ However, the camera is safe on the ship unless you're near the pool area. So yeah, I would hesitate to take my good camera XD

Head strapon, niiiice lol And I'm pretty sure I'll be taking my MBP and didn't take about importing the videos/pictures onto it. :thanks: for the tip. That also might mean I may not need to buy a bigger sd card for the gopro if I go that route. :D

I had the GoPro Hero 3 and always used it in the pool or at the beach. It's really fun and a great camera but I took it back to the store after 2 weeks as its really a lot of money and I ended up not using it too much ;)

Why by Go-pros if you're not gonna go dive/sport with it?
Just get that thing that Gary linked because if you're not gonna use the GoPro for sports etc. it's probably just a waste of money.

We plan on doing quite a few excursions in our next cruise, ie. zip-lining. Don't think I'd like to have my phone strapped to my head and somehow end up losing it XD I'd also like to strap it on my car and do other various things, but mostly throwing into the water and what not :K

1) Sunbathing is not an extreme sport...forget the go-pro

2)Zip-lining with a strappon...mmmmmh naughty Walter...just wear the strappon then :p

3)would have been awesome if Jack and Rose had a go-pro during their cruise...

I wouldn't recommend you getting one, because you're only going to use it 10-ish times every year, and the accessories are quite expensive
