I found this article. It is some guy talking about how Americans are reacting to the bombing, and how the rest of the world is affected by this, socially, as well.

I agree wholeheartedly with this article. It is a lot of what I think are common sense ideas and good ideologies.

Particularly the part about how terrified muslims themselves are of america. They are absolutely terrified that because of this we're going to blow more shit up in the middle east. Maybe they don't really know what exactly we'll do, and this scares them more. And it's not irrational. News stations and the general public were blaming muslims, and wrongfully. There hasn't been a single piece of evidence to point towards this coming from the middle east. In fact, there is quite a bit MORE information suggesting the opposite.

And also how, while this may be terrifying and horrific for us, keep in mind that the majority of casualties from the Afghan and Iraq wars were national civilian deaths caused by american military action. Basically, for every time a bomb blows up in america and kills only civilians, we blow up more than 10 street corners full of civilians in Iraq.

Should we say our troops are evil? No. That would be stupid, and no one is suggesting that. I completely support our troops. I also support the spread of real democracy. This isn't about that. It's about practicing empathy and compassion in a world full of hate and ignorance. Let's stop being hateful and ignorant when shit like this happens.

Enjoy.

I like this article, a good read, which is surprising because the Guardian is not my favourite paper. Gives us lefties a bad name usually. Thanks Chris.
