Pray for Boston

The Moment

Today around 3:30 pm CST at least two explosions ripped through the heart of Boston during the decade old tradition of the Boston Marathon. I am still unsure whether or not it was terrorist based, but nonetheless, these people need our support. People were video taping their loved ones as they ran only to see them horribly harmed or killed.

Please give the city of Boston your support.

The Boston Marathon is full of history and tradition. To know that was forever marked today with a senseless act of violence is tragic. My heart and prayers go out to Boston. May they come together as a family and feel the waves of strength being sent from all of us to them.

The boston marathon is full of tadition? I did not know that.

Anyway, the bombs exploded pretty much where I used to hang out, having been a berklee student myself. I spent a lot of time across from that convention center.

But all my friends are okay.

And my coworkers were there, too.

But they are okay, as well.

Not like this was an "act of god" though. It was some person whose life needs to be ended as soon as possible. This angers me.

The boston marathon is the oldest in the world since it started in 1897 I believe...

My thoughts are with all the people affected

This wasn't an attack on people, it was an attack on the United states and our way of life.

The Boston marathon, being held on patriots day , is a huge event. It gets hundreds of thousands of spectators and tens of thousands of runners from all over the world. Patriots day is a holiday in Boston and schools are closed. This attack was obviously planned for this specific day to give a black eye to the United states imo.

That's so fucking stupid.

People trying to send a message by killing people on a holiday meant to idolize the good qualities of humanity.

I mean, really, if they wanted to just make it a battle of good and evil, way to fucking go.

From my understanding it was an act of terrorism.

-More un-detonated bombs have been found
-Both went off within seconds of each other
-Someone who is injured is being watched at a hospital

Also as said before, it is an American tradition and celebration that attracts lots of visitors. Obviously it was planned.

Um it was an act of terrorism. Terrorism is meant to inject fear into the victims. I'm not going to speculate as to who is responsible for it because I don't know, but it was an act of terrorism no matter who did it. It's almost humorous how people just automatically connect the word terrorism with muslims or the jihad. Anyone is capable of terrorism.

I am just so grateful to live in a country that has millions of people trained in emergency services some of whom were there seconds after the blasts went off lending a helping hand. My heart and prayers go out to the people and families that are involved in this tragedy. And again my hat goes off to all the people that were staffed there just in case something like this happened.

I love so much how people in america can come close together no matter what you believe in times like this. And i love the men and women that serve in the FD, EMS, and PD, that are trained just for things like this. We live in an amazing country that is very blessed to have these people out there just to help and serve others in times of need.

I'm not sure anyone really made it clear that they were using the word "terrorist" to really mean "middle eastern, muslim terrorist." While I think we can all agree it was an act of terrorism in the general sense, I think people were using the word "terrorism" here to refer to an act of terrorism from alien origins (as in another nation against our nation).

I know the middle east is all over the news, but it doesn't mean that all americans believe "terrorist" to be synonymous with "middle-easterner" or "arab." I certainly don't, and I hate it when people assume that's how my brain works just because I'm american.

DWolf we are all angry and feeling the same as you. You just said what we are thinking, all of us are getting tired of bombs/terrorists/and death. We must try and stay strong in the face of these cowardly people who wish to make our lives terrible. Canada lost some great men and woman in Afganistan and then we see them killing/injuring our best friend and neighbour because we're trying to better their lives. Sometimes I think we should just nuke them and be done with it. But it is our duty to try and help those poor souls who are under the yoke of these terrible dictators. In this the U.S.A. has always helped to improve the world. We are proud here in Canada to consider you our best friend in the world.

Maybe the US should just let them deal with their own god damn problems sometimes? We don't have to get all up in everyone's jimbobs.

That would be the easy way, I don't think the U.S. would allow these regimes to continue their atrocities. Even here in Canada, we are appalled at the terrible things certain countries do.
