Getting a phone today. Thought I had til may 1. I was gonna wait and see if anything was coming out soon after that.

NOPE.

Gotta get one today.

So, if you had to pick the best phone on the market right now,

what is it?

Cost not being a factor.

I forgot to make the title "Urgent! Need new phone."

Now it just says urgent.

You should wait for iPhone 6 :troll2:

Cost not being important; get either an iPhone 5 or a Samsung blabla the newest one. they're pretty cool.

Is the HTC one out yet?

I am concerned almost entirely with a very short list of things:

1. Camera. Best camera out there. Want it. I do not have a real camera.
2. Processor - I will be doing things like graphic EQ'ing and measurements.
3. Quality of sound output - I'll be using this as my primary audio device away from the laptop.

Don't care about price. Don't care about Operating system. Don't care about screen size (too much). Don't care too much about durability. Don't care about the sound quality of the phone speakers.

If a better phone is coming out in 3 months, and it's THAT much better, let me know.

Wait, I thought you already got an iPhone 5? Also, what network are you using?

HTC One doesn't hit AT&T until the 19th with pre-orders starting on the 4th. They do have the HTC One X+ which packs a 1.7 ghz Tegra 3 and boasts a 4.7 inch 720p display. AT&T also carries the Galaxy SIII, and the Optimus G which has very high ratings.

Best phone in Verizon's lineup is the Droid DNA which packs a 1080p screen and a 1.5 ghz quad core. The specs are almost identical to the HTC One (main difference is that its 200 mhz slower). They also have the Galaxy SIII which is only the dual core version I believe.

Sprint, like AT&T, also carries the SIII and Optimus G as their top models.

You could also check out the new Black Berry Z10.

One downside to the Droid DNA is that it only comes in a 16 GB version. But with all the cloud storage possibilities, I don't know how much of a problem that may pose these days.

Optimus G has several advantages over the SIII. For one, it is a newer phone than the SIII. Other benefits are the much better screen (HD-IPS+ is much clearer especially with text and whites are cery clean when compared to the AMOLED, plus it has more natural colors) and twice as mich ram. Beware, if you use sprint then the Optimus G wont have a card slot. AT&T version does have a card slot. The only major advantage of the SIII that i can think of right now is the camera. Just checked and saw that US versions of the SIII are NOT quad core like the Optimus G.

I went with the lumia. It has the best camera out there right now.

Does the best in low light. Each pixel has more light.

Also near indestructible.

32 Gb.

Touch screen is as good or better than the 5.

Wireless charging.

Looks pretty cool.

Basically, what I decided was I am going to get a good phone that is not too expensive, and just save up for the best possible phone that's out there in 2 years.

I see the next generation of phones that come out this year being the last step in this phase of phones. I see next year being a redefining year for phones.

Thanks for all the help you guys!

You guys, as always, are awesome.

Nikon mine is quad. Dk where you read that. Also LG has a bad track record as of late with reliability. According to my friends who work in call centers. Samsung, htc, or Motorola are your best bets for a problem free phone.

My friend (w/ LG Optimus G) has had lots of firmware issues with his phone. Also, his touchscreen stopped working correctly on the bottom left side. Also, his bluetooth cuts out. Also, for some reason the audio quality on that phone seems to be lacking.

Hah, how could I forget about the Lumia? Good choice.

@vox. Every US carrier specific model I checked turned out to be Dual Core. Do you have a non carrier specific SIII?

-----Edit-----

The bottom of your posts say "Sent from my SGH-T999." The SGH-T999 is a dual core like the SGH-I747 from AT&T.
