The new shoutbox

I'm not sure if this is happening to anyone else but I'm having problem with the shout-box. It doesn't post new messages until I post another message. I was just wondering if it was possible to bring back the old shout-box if we get a majority vote?

I never even used the search function so I can't say I agree.
I miss the timestamps though. Now it just says "1 minute ago" on all the messages until you refresh the page. Kinda lame.....

I think you can still use search if you're in the archive. On the bottom left there is a 'search for' field with a drop down menu to separate by channel.

I'm pretty sure the new shout is a work in progress. It's not even on the home page yet. I like having the different fonts and colors, and the time stamp is not a problem if you can tell time then do basic math.

I voted to keep it. No problems for me

Things I like about the new shoutbox that the previous shoutbox didn't have:

-Search function works just fine
-the block of empty space between the shouts is because the shout would start to scroll/jump if too many smilies were used. Consider this a cushion. The previous shout box had this cushion as well.
-Customization that each user can choose to do to their own shouts
-Ability to have channels
-you can PM via the shout box
-Each user can edit their own shouts; helps with typos
-It has a bot. It'll be configured to respond to certain questions. Will benefit when someone asks to join.
-time stamp can be reverted back to showing the actual time. I figured the current wy was easier to tell how long the last shout its been. Although, with the time, it wasn't hard anyway.

I voted to keep it, has more features, IMO.

without suggestions/issues, I don't think there's anything to fix.

I see what Rival is talking about. It doesn't really bother me because if you're chatting with someone already, there's no need to know how far back the previous shouts were.

I have a bad habit of refreshing the page anyhow. I tend do look at posts while I'm chatting as well.

The time stamps bother me as well. I'm always having to refresh. Other than that, no issues for me.
