Questions about the W8 Upgrade

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of buying the 30 euros upgrade to W8 but I need to know something first.
This price is only for the UPGRADE so from W7 to W8. So when installing it over Windows 7 it should work.
But what if I want to do a clean re installation at a later date? There won't be a Windows 7 for it to install over so it might want me to buy the full pack for a clean installation.

All input is appreciated guys

I purchase the upgrade as well and went ahead and did a clean install and it worked like a charm. When you purchase W8 upgrade, it'll download/install an icon on your W7 desktop. That icon will help you make a bootable USB W8 installer or make an ISO for you to burn it onto a DVD. I used the USB, and you'll just need about 4 gigs.

You should be fine, as I don't think Microsoft might have changed things for different companies. Before you format, make the USB installer, boot into it, and if you see 2 options that you're able to select (Upgrade and Clean Install), then you're home free.

Alright thanks Walter, the whole promo got me a bit confused but this clears it all up nicely.

Yeah and I am pretty sure that when they give you the download, they also give you a license key. Just another reason you don't need to worry about re-installs :)

Wow the Microsoft servers are crap, it's telling me that it's going to take 10 hours to download the files :lmao:

EDIT: 24 hours now.

EDIT: And it finished half an hour later lol

Nice. I am liking it so far. I have a program that re-added the start menu, but it's only a 30-day trial

I kinda got used to not having it already. Although, I had to start pinning frequently used programs onto my taskbar and the Start page. So far, I'm digging it too. Took a little learning curve. But it's ok thus far.

I really liked it once I got used to it in the preview, it's heavily customizable, which I like.
