I just started reading this book recently. It's HILARIOUS!!!!!

I was just wondering how all of you guys feel about this dude. In my opinion, he is one of the WORST examples of modern US "Conservatism." In my opinion, it's not even conservatism but mere idiocy on Rush's level. Hardly any republicans want to associate with him, yet he wants to associate himself with most republicans...... not only that, he views himself as a "rugged individualist" and a leader of a media revolution.

So anyone here an avid Limbaugh listener? Even just because it's so damned funny?

I hate Rush Limbaugh...like with a huge fucking passion. I'm a Republican, yes, and I do believe he is the worst example we have as a conservative. He isn't even a conservative, he's just a god damn dickhead. There are even a few on the liberal end, sure, but none as BAD as this dickhead.

Limbaugh is a unique case. No one has really ever been so blatantly deceitful and preposterous and at the same time been at the forefront of "editorial" and "news." I do not believe any political pundit or anyone on radio has ever had such a mislead and uninformed listening base.

There was a study done in which a large group of people were asked to follow the coverage of the healthcare reform in teh 80's. They could only listen to one source (so like watching a certain news channel, or in this case, Rush Limbaugh). One section was followed as they only got their information through Rush Limbaugh's talk show, T.V show ...etc (he had a TV show back then.... also a collection of ties called "No Boundaries," all 4 ties colored with Red, White, Blue, and Black). The study both followed which groups THOUGHT they were the most informed, and then asked them objective questions to find out who actually DID know the most.

Across the board, Rush Limbaugh listeners declared themselves as "Most Informed," yet when asked the question "Out of the following demographics, who would be most likely to be uninsured in America for healthcare?" Rush Limbaugh listeners (over 70% of them) declared that the ELDERLY was the most likely demographic to be uninsured for healthcare in america.


I'll let you guys figure out why that is probably the most absurd answer you could give to that question.


Another fact:
-Rush Limbaugh didn't register to vote until he was 35 years old. He only did so because a reporter found out and came out with the story.

Also, the things he says are just plain preposterous:

"There are more American Indians alive today than when Columbus landed." - Rush Limbaugh


He has also, on several occasions, included "interviews" with people in his newsletters. However, there is a tiny disclaimer SOMEWHERE near the interview that says something like this:
"The quotes from [interviewee] have been taken from various interviews, press releases, and other media to emulate what an interview between Rush Limbaugh and [interviewee] would be like, should it happen."


He is just a sad, sad, sad man.

Also a Republican (though I mostly just tend to align more with conservative views) and I agree 100%. He does more harm than good and makes my blood boil with pretty much every word that comes out of his mouth.

I don't really know who this guy is but I personally don't believe any news stations. Their all supported by someone and those someones are going to have opinions that they are going to want the news stations to be biased towards whatever opinions they have. You have Fox which is the republicans then MSNBC which is democrats and then you have CNN which some would say is more in the middle but their democrat as well if you listen to em, but i don't listen to any of them. Their all liars imo.

The thing about Limbaugh is that he is a really stupid guy. He doesn't know his politics, his history, or even the constitution. This guy only does this and gets money and fame out of it, we can all see it, too!!!! He's probably a Independent but he saw how much high ratings he got when he acted like a huge dickhead and now that's what he's actually become.

Maher used to be funny until people started taking him seriously.. Now he's just scary.. Limby has always been a scumbag and a douchebag. He's one person I'd like to see tortured

No Rush is definitely a registered republican.

Also, CNN tries to stay middle. That is their goal.

Only problem is that shit don't sell. No one wants to hear or see real news. Fox became the most popular and biggest money making news station because it's not news, it's hyped up propoganda. They tell their listeners what they want to hear so their ratings go up. MSNBC has more journalistic intent, but they are also preaching to Democrats, and they certainly know it. SO CNN is in this place where they get punished for being good journalists because good journalism doesn't sell.

As far as good news stations go, NPR/PRI have extremely smart, extremely unbiased journalists and guests all the time. They get fact-checked nonstop, and their listeners can quite easily voice their opinion publicly for anyone to see and in a meaningful manner. They also don't screen their guests and callers like Rush Limbaugh or Fox

I find myself coming to hate people like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck just cause Fox News endorses them. Fox has become so biased, it's not even funny.

I don't think anyone wants to endorse Rush right now.

Mainly, he just has this huge population of loyal listeners who will vote however he tells them. So basically, his friends in washington want those voters.
