S4 Changes: Bolts Only Server

Hey folks,

Team #2 is proud to introduce the revamped server with a Bolt Sniper Rifles Only server!

The current map rotation is small until the server starts to get populated. The lineup (all FFA):
-killhouse
-crossfire
-shipment
-crash
-broadcast

b3 will be doing just about all the work to warn & kick (not ban) the non-Bolt users. It will warn you a total of 3 times, and then give you a nice 18 minute temp-ban from the server; and best of all, it kicks admins/moderators as well

The current allowed weapons:
-r700
-M40A3
-nades

IMPORTANT, the following is currently on the naughty list (so expect warnings/kicks):
-c4
-claymores
-RPG's
-marty
-pistols

I believe that's it for now. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Kick or Tban for false weapons? TBan IMO, since it says SNIPER ONLY in the name. And when you still are that though/dumb you deserve it.

I think we should have UAV back to make it a little more challenging. Air strikes and certainly helis are bs with snipers only.

I also forgot to mention that UAV, air strikes and helis have been disabled (for the moment). Can be changed if the majority wants 'em back or at least UAV.

You can still call in UAV's because B3 warns by hitmarkers (so you could call AS out of map). 3warns and then the TB is 18minutes.
I propose pistols are removed and knife is added.

On a side note. I expect a large population (if it gets populated) of this server would be promod players. Let's keep the griefing to a minimum. If you are not a big fan of bolts only, don't come and troll for a temp ban. The team will vote and you can be perm banned. Be a good representation of the krew.

Can't you configure B3 to autokick for nonbolt use not for 18 minutes? Just 1 warning and then autokick for 0 minutes?

Also, it is autoicking for nades, pistols.... or wut?

Here's the only issue i has....... acogs on sc make it impossibly easy to quickscope cuz it doesn't matter where on the body you hit them.

Immediate tbans are excessive, IMO. We want people to come back so that at least they could ask why they got booted. From what I understand, if you get tempbanned again within the same day you've been tempbanned, the next tempban is longer - I don't know the exact amount (time/days), but it adds up.

I haven't tried calling in UAV but I removed it from the server config, so I'm not even sure how you can call in UAV in the first place...

Make a new thread asking to remove pistols.

Knives are already in the server. Have you been in the server AFTER I made this thread? :rolleyes:

I will look into that. But IMO, 3 warnings is fair game as it gives plenty of time to have people finally "see" it's Bolts only. We definitely need some sort of tban time because if we didn't, we'll have some trollers coming into the server, racking up the warnings, get kicked and do the same thing over and over. I'll look into setting the tban time lower to something like 3-5 minutes?

Nades & pistols are allowed, for now and do not get booted for it. Marty is the only nade that gets warnings/tban.

And I think we NEED some n00byness in the server for now. So why not let n00bs try to use acog on their bolt if they wish.

Yeah nice job Wally, glad to see it's up and going!

IMO 3 warnings is too much, =FF= has their server set up to not warn at all (except console spamming) and they get kicked instantly. What I would suggest is have the warnings in the console and if they break it, then instant kick for 10 mins. Or we can try it like this but I think if there are a few people on there they would get pissed pretty quick if somebody is getting 3 chances to kill you without a sniper weapon...

I think too that turning the pistols off would be a good idea, there could be 10 people in there and using pistols only, great advantage over say one guy in there using a bolt...

I also like that air strikes and heli's have been disabled, and my idea about UAV is to either allow it for all or turn it off, if it's allowed for all then IMO it will help get the server populated because it's hard to find people sometimes (especially on big maps), so if it's turned on for everybody all the time I think it would help, just some thoughts.

Desert eagle should be remove IMO, since someone with really good aim can just come in and wreck the server. And nades should be remove as well.

Not sure if you have re-enabled them but when playing a bit ago someone got both an airstrike/heli and called them in.

I coulda sworn I've done this on a ranked server before. I guess not.

Worst case scenario, I believe I can also add AS & Helis to the naughty list.
