Well after owning my macbook for less than. week I've already right proper fucked it, while trying to use bootcamp and installing windows I've somehw managed to get rid of any trace of mac software, not even a hard reset will give me the option to start using the mac os, it boots straight into windows 7. So if anyone here has any idea how I may fix it, that will be appreciated.

please refrain from calling me an idiot. lol
Thinking back I shouldve done it under the supervision of someone a little more computer literate than myself.

Does it show when you hold the command button on starup? I have a friend's whose macbook did that and I think that got the bootcamp loader to show.

you need to use your Mac OS Disc to start up your computer. Insert the disc, and hold OPTION as the computer starts up. Select your disc, and MAc OS will boot up from the disc. From there you can install Mac OSX again.

ALso, if you used bootcamp to install windows, you need to also install the mac software from your disc onto your windows partition. Are you even sure your partition is gone (the mac one)? Insert your mac disc while you are running windows and the self-installer should start up. If not, go into my computer and manually start it. Once you have installed this, you can use the bootcamp software to select which partition you want to boot into on restart.

Also, you may find that on holding OPTION when you start, your mac partition shows up as bootable. So if that happens, just boot into it.

Hold the Option button while hearing the chime. You should see all the partitions your laptop has. If you managed to somehow format the partition that OSX was installed on when installing Win7, then yes, you are fucked and will need to start fresh again.

If the above is true, and you meed to start fresh:
Did your laptop come with Lion, Snow Leopard installed?

Do you have any discs (only applies to Snow Leopard).

If it came with Lion or ML, you should have a Recovery partition when you held the Option button. If you don't, restart your laptop and hold 'command + R'. It will do download the OS for you. The only thing you will need to do us go into Disk Utility and format your hard drive. I just woke up but the default should be something like Mac OSX (journaled). I can double check in a while.
