Repopulating Server 1

Time to get on this. We need to make a plan to get regular traffic through server 1 again.

Ideas?

Okay. It has come to my attention that we now have lots of different servers in different areas, which are obviously going to attract different members from different areas. We still need to function as a krew and get all our servers active. We need to start with server 1.

Everyone, especially staff, should make an effort to be on server 1. If you are at your computer, join server 1. It doesn't matter if you are playing or not. If you are busy, just sit there in spectate or let yourself die and sit there that way. Why?
Because most people we get on that server join servers that are populated. They filter their servers in their browser by "Number of Players" and NOT by ping (quite obviously, we get high pings on server 1). If we have over 10 people in server 1, we will show up in their list. If not, we won't. So please do this, guys. I will start right now.

if u play on other server, maybe just talk about our site and server, not recruiting or spamming adress, but just talk about it. (Please leave idiots where they usually play, dont bring them here^^)

Console messages are a must in either promoting s1, other servers, and/or the website.

Correct TD. If two or three Krewbies start a party in s1, then others will come. If repeating the party method (even just in spectate mode) over time s1 will get populated.

We could also have messages challenging people so they will return. I remember the old one when i first started asking if we had what it took to take on the highest stat getter of the month. Believe it or not challenges like those naw at people

I don't like leaving the game running in the background for hours on end. It taxes and heats up my GPU and CPU and i don't like that. Other may feel the same, i don't know. Not saying it's a bad idea, just saying why i won't do it.

As far as S1 goes, it will get populated on it's own in time. If we could organize an hour a night where members would get on and play , that would be great.

well, if the server isn't populated you gpu shouldn't be doing any work as you're just sitting there. If the game is minimised I am using less that 10 percent CPU overhead.

As TD said we need to make an effort. I tend not to go into S1 due to higher ping, but will still be there to try and get it populated. But, let's say a hypothetical situation occurred where two members were playing deagles only and I went there to assist population, I'm gonna have to pull the tube out. So don't go crying like a baby.

No, it's not doing a lot of work, but it's doing some. I just don't like keeping the game open and taxing my hardware, even to the smallest degree.

As i said, I'm willing to put in an hour or so a night at a scheduled time to help.

Dude all it took was me and sarg playing for like 20 minutes before other guys joined in. Just leave it on if you can. The whole problem is that when our IP's changed, a bunch of people just lost our server... a bunch of regulars. It's not gonna show up in their server browser if it doesn't have enough players to get a top spot.

Also, keep in mind that we want as many people on right now as possible. This means please don't troll the players, demand that they use a certain weapon or perk set, ...etc.
Also, I think for a short period of time, we should be a little more laxed on the spawncamper issue, at least until we get a regular number of players.

Bending rules to re-populate the server= No bueno.

I just saw someone get kicked yesterday for spawncamping? And there were 8 people on......

I have trouble believing he was being that much of a problem.

While I am always down for c4 or knife rounds ,I think TD is right for the time being maybe we should stay away from "specific" rounds as I saw some people come and leave real fast when they saw what we were playing...And the trolling thing should be held across the board anyways,I personally like friendly servers and a good natured game experience...Don't get me wrong trolling can be fun at times between friends ..But again ,I have heard people say things like " i like KKK servers but there's too many douches" ..not sure if they meant KKK members or just players but
still ,either way, a fun environment is more attractive than an abusive one IMO..

Sorry TD, I'm going to kick spawncampers even if it's just 4 people online. Rules are rules. Other players might leave if we don't enforce our rules. Also, we have been through this many many times before. S1 always manages to repopulate. Even when the krew moved from 1.6 to 1.7 people came after a few weeks of the server running.
