Pony> Dk about mac release but a 64bit computer and DirectX11 gladly recommended/needed...Im playing since yesterday with a 32bit/Dx10...it works, some light effect are even nice in mid res. Was playing in 1680*1050 with a 1GO ATI RADEON HD 6850. I crashed when i switched in 1400*900 to get back some FPS lol...
The game is fun, kinda like a DC universe mixed with some WoW and Left 4 Dead (a way better than DC)...all that in a Lovecraftian world....totally my kind of universe.
The fact that there's no predefined class is simply awesome...When they say no Lvl, not totally true, you level up with xp too...but there's, once again, no predefined skills unlocked at one specific level. U are really free to build our character like you want to play. There's three faction: Illuminati(the bad guys), Templar(the good guys) and Dragons.(the mofos) Only templar were available in beta, but i guess they are different and all the same
Every faction has 10 decks who helps you to build a consistant character but you are absolutely free to not follow them.
Action is not static as a Wow can be...moving is one of the key, even if attacking and running/jump at the same time ask some time to get used to it. And for what i've see keeping a static position is really hard, enemy tracks you even if you are in a high spot.
The map is big, im playing for 15 hours on the Beta area, located in a fishermen town in Maine, Kingsmouth, and his surrounding (the coast, a vast area of hills, a scrapyard, an airport, etc...) did plenty of quest and there's a lot more to do...Im actually stuck in a brainstorming quest where i need to find a keycode to acces a "new illuminated path" (just cause all the dialogs are not yet finished and available in Beta i guess..). There's also three massive PVP area (didn't tried yet..i generally not a fan of MMO PvP)...and a part of london in the intro chapter. Enemy are tough, requires team or timing to avoid big attack if you try to play solo and some are impressive (like this humano-crab bigger than the gas station i've crossed once)
The only thing that bugs me is the game is produced by EA games...and im affraid that if the game doesn't encounter the succes they want (understand:brings a lot of money) the server will be turned off pretty quick and the game is gonna end in free-to-play. Thats why i dont like EA policy, they dont care about gamers...
But the game defenitly deserve his chance.
