So you maybe some of you new that I had gotten a brand new laptop, well its done for. I accidentally spilled water on it and it doesnt even turn on anymore. When the water fell I immediatelly tried to dry it and put it sideways so the water would fall off, I also used my hairdryer to see if it would work. It turned on so I left it like that because I had to leave for an afternoon exam. When I came back two hours later it wouldnt turn on. I disconnected it and took the battery out for tonight but it still doesnt work. I dunno if I should open the case or leave it like that so when I come back to Spain I can use the guarrantie to pay off a bit. Thats another thing. Being in morroco land I cant take my laptop anywhere to fix it, at least not a place I can trust. Meanwhile I will use my moms laptop to come here from time to time. I thought my activity couldnt go down anymore but seems like its gonna be like this for a while.

PS: I wont piss on it like TD. Dont suggest that please.

LOL totally forgot TD pissed on his laptop! MAYBE, when you tried to dry it by keeping it sideways the water might have moved towards the laptop. Or it moved when you tried to "blow" it away.

Dude. You shoudln't have turned it on retard. You killed it. If it turned on after you spilled water on it, and now it doesn't, you totally fucked yourself out of a lucky break.

You need to complelely let it dry for a longggg time. You can fry certain circuits in your computer........ like literally just burning some parts, even if it's running on battery and there is a drop of water in one place, you can burn out part of your hardware.
It's just the way the wiring is. Too much power goes through one circuit, it could easily burn or blow something.

So you let it dry for days and day before you try it mang.

Turning it on right away won't necessarily murder it on the spot. I have had a couple things work again. Let it sit without the battery in a dry room for about a week. Some say that covering it rice will absorb the evaporating moisture and prevent later condensing so it might not hurt to try.

Sweet! Glad it's backs up. The rice really does work. I dropped my old phone in the bath tub. Threw it in a bag of rice for a few days and it was completely dry and worked again :D

Well, he had to turn it on to Google "what to do when you spill water all over your laptop".

Top result? DON'T TURN IT ON!

For future reference. Drop a battery powered device in to water. Pull the battery. Let it dry out fully. Then try it. Putting in rice can assist with pulling the moisture out, but for a laptop, that's a lot of rice.
