My connectivity is limited!!

So I get home yesterday, and turn on the PC.
Network has limited or no connectivity.
Wireless is working, other PCs on the network working.
Change cables, not working, change ports on the router, not working.
Boot to other drive, not working (that rules out software).

So I rummage through my box of tricks and find a network card. Disable the onboard in the BIOS, install new card.

Network connects now, but really flakey. Can't connect to COD servers, email and internet slow as shit.

I'm thinking the Southbridge (or Northbridge, whichever handles the network connectivity)

Dammit, looks like new mobo, CPU and RAM

This could be in the rage thread...

If you are up to trying to straighten out some bent cpu pins ,I still have a brand new z68 gigabyte mobo (with some bent pins)
you can have it if you want.

start>run>cmd

type in ipconfig /release

wait about a minute then

type ipconfig /release

exactly as i typed it, it might work. good luck.

Have you tried a BIOS update? I have found several time that it can fix some controller issues on the mobo when all software troubleshooting fails.

That was a top idea.
Now I cant get the damn machine to boot off the RAID array! No matter what settings I have the BIOS on.

Fortunately, I have a dual boot setup (separate drive), so I could still access the RAID, just spent 4 hours last night backing everything up, so I can probably reinstall Windowzzzz.

The RAID will boot if I disconnect the Games drive. Games will boot up with RAID connected and still be able to access the RAID.

Either way, there's no internet. Or network at all actually.

So I can use the laptop in the meantime, but the main PC is toast.

Gaming is a PITA, due to a screen 1/4 of the size, and lack of a full KB.
