Katana help?

I'm looking to buy a ninja sword(for the lols and in case of zombies) and wanted to know if you guys have any suggestions on good ones to get. My budget is $60.00 and it doesn't have to be awesome quality or anything fancy, just something I can hang on my wall. I might attack trees with it, but other than that it probably won't get much use.(unless zombies!)

Awww man I got excited! I thought you were going for a really honest to god Katana. I have one in Kentucky but it was like $280 I believe.

Im not an expert but already had chance to meet a guy who was praticing Iaidö and show me some video of katana smithing and Iaido fight...

60$...for zombie invasion...with a 60$ katana you wont go so far...better spend money in a good crowbar, cheaper, more effective and more resistant than a 60$ katana.
If u plan to chop trees...buy a good axe. Cheaper, more effective and more resistant than a 60$ katana.
If u plan to buy a "real katana" count at least 200$ for first price to 400$ (im talking about steel hand forged katana)...and this is the price for recently made katana if u plan to buy an bended steel japanese katana...start to safe money your 60$ wouldn't be enough...and if you safe 60$/month you should be able to afford it in 40 months

If its decorative...these two on amazon seems good. And imo the only thing you will chop with a 60$ katana is one of your fingers

Those would snap on your first attempt to slice something lol. Go hit up some yard sales or craigslist or pawn shops for a quality blade. I have one, it's RAZER sharp. I could prob slice a thick rubber tire clean off with it.

Thanks guys, I'll probably go ahead and get one of the cheap Katanas on Amazon just for decoration, and get that Machete in HIbred's post for combat. I also do already own a stainless steel crowbar and painted it to look like Gordon Freeman's crowbar from Half Life 2

that should do for the time being, use oil when sharpening,there should plenty of guides on how to sharpen on the net

You dumb fuckers. A sword of any kind (apart from a medieval Broad Sword) is not going to have any effect on the undead. You need something that will smash the skull, not a cutting or stabbing weapon.

Well if a Katana can decapitate wouldn't that be adequate for zombies? Sure you would have to go back and destroy the brains of the decapitated zombie heads, but it would at least get them out of the way. Plus if being attacked by multiple foes I'm dead if I try to hit one with that axe and swing too wide. The katana or machete's longer blades gives me a smaller margin for error. A sharpened Katana should be able to slice through bones right?

ummm guys if u wanna know what the best weapons against zombies in real life are u should just put "Zombie Go Boom" on youtube. Its a show where they test real weapons on artificial human bodies. Lots of fun!
